2024/25 David Moyes

We’re getting the Sunderland Moyes aren’t we.
No.

Obviously not the result we wanted but I feel we attacked better. That of course left us open however you can’t account for being denied two clear penalties and Onana not being given a second yellow.

We’ll improve.

I'd have firstly identified that Dyche's favoured XI has got us deep in a relegation fight and doesn't look capable of even forcing goalkeepers into decent saves. I'd have established that choosing the same XI isn't going to improve our chances of winning games.

I'd have started Patterson, O'Brien and Lindstrom over Young, Doucoure and Harrison and played 5-2-2-1 with Ndiaye and Lindstrom playing behind the striker.
I'm not saying your choices are wrong but you've chosen 2 defenders there, and a fella who has barely had a shot on target since he signed. It's just opinions btw ... I just don't think the first XI choices are that obvious, as the quality of the squad is quite poor. Moyes has gone with a team that is outside the relegation places after the first half of the season.

In turn I'd have been happy once again to see Harrison Armstrong who actually looks like a footballer and has football intelligence.
He does. He’s clearly a player who can spot a pass and thread the ball through the eye of a needle and be creative, we’ve seen it already. I just hope he’s not ignored because of his age but I’ve a feeling Moyes is similar to Dyche in this regard and he will be. Yes he’s young, but he’s a big lad and no shrinking violet and can handle himself physically unlike a lot of players at a similar age. He needs to be trusted and given more opportunities IMO. Baines was very complimentary last Thursday and has seen enough of him to know what he’s all about. Hopefully he’ll be in Moyes’ ear to give him opportunities.
