2024/25 David Moyes

Imagine having a go at the players when we're in this position.

This is already looking like a disaster.

If we ge beat against Spurs there's going to be organisational turmoil.
🤷‍♂️

I support EVERY single Everton manager. Can you say the same?

But if you feel happy deflecting from your disloyalty by making my loyalty look like a wind up, be my guest...

Personally think it’s just optimism speaking, it was a perfectly standard from us. Bit of effort but zero guile
Thought there was plenty of effort, little quality.
Didn't feel that impressed by villa either to be honest but they had miles more quality all over the pitch.
Only plus pionts was we had a bit more possession and made a few chances for a change.

I think it played out about as I expected, Im happy with the performance considering the circumstances. Just a few days, and the team showed promise despite not a single player changing. Dead even on shots, shots on goal, possession, and the difference being a gift of a back pass vs a penalty not given(or DCL not finishing).

Its a solid start, but now they need to build on it. A win will be needed in one of the next 2 matches.

I think he'll be very concerned by the lack of character in the squad.

Pickford aside, they're the sort of interchangeable nonentities that you could see go down with a different club every year.

Desperately need two or three to come in and make a position their own.

Changes will come next game I’m quite sure. I’d be disappointed if Young or Mangala/Doucoure are not drop and reduced the slow/silly possesion for a more direct 4 4 2.

Beto is a better partner for DCL.
I was expecting some this game tbh, but hopefully you are right.

A body or two through the door wouldn't go amiss either.

City had the worst spell of results in years, yet guardiola never once blame the players but himself...thats the difference between the great managers and the "others"
Not counting this kinda thing then?

“Of course we were tired but we couldn’t close the cross, our holding midfielders don’t have the skills to defend these type of balls because we have other types of players right now and we couldn’t defend that situation.”

He was spot on for me, he mentioned that the players tried their best. It’s not a Moyes team tonight because he’s only been here a few days. However, it will be a Moyes team in a few weeks when he’s had some time to implement his ideas.
