2024/25 David Moyes

Got a draw last season. Was at least hoping for that under a new manager bounce
I think the team has gone backwards this year. I was half hoping - half expecting a draw. I thought we showed some character after their goal and that DCL miss was a kick in the teeth and a draw would have been great. But I still think Villa are unfortunately playing at a different level to us right now. Hopefully we step up to that level under Moyes and teams like Villa come thinking that they might get a mauling.

i was really hoping for the new manager bounce, but it just seemed like a little bit better than before.

we're in a relegation scrap for sure and i hope moyes can dig out some results soon.

to say i'm feeling loose is an understatement.

i need to go for a walkies around the block to vacate myself.

That was a bit of a free hit for Moyes. No one can expect miracles against a good strong side like Villa who came in and acted like a professional away team to take the points.

We at least showed a little hustle and tried to be more positive than we were under Dyche which is at least a good sign. We improve little by little and gradually over the remainder of the season then we should be fine. Hopefully get a couple of decent performances especially against the lower table teams to get us safety with plenty to spare.

Not how I wanted the final season at Goodison to be, but it is what it is, but at least now with Moyes we might see a couple more games there that remind us of what we are going to miss.

Also unlike Fat Sam, Koemann, Lampard, Spanish Waiter, and Dyche, I don't doubt Moyes's capabilities. I'll take that right now.
No free hits in a relegation battle unfortunately. Those are the sort of home games we need to start picking up results.

That's a fair shout. I'm just not trying to over worry a loss when Moyes hasn't had much time to make a change to how we play. You are right though, time will runs out quickly when the change for the better isn't made straight away.

100% agree on Moyes needing time, and I do still have optimism Moyes can turn this round.

If we lose again on Sunday, then my concern levels will go up quite a bit though. Spurs and Villa are better than us but neither of them has been winning regularly on the road, so these games are still good opportunities for points.

I just don't necessarily agree with the idea of free hits. If we stay up by a point, then the result at Arsenal for example will have been crucial, despite the fact we almost all expected to lose. Every game matters when you are in trouble, and every loss hurts.
