2024/25 David Moyes

Ive only been here a few days and im already burnt out seeing how i can get the team scoring.

In other words. He's watched our strikers and realised we're up sh!t creek without a paddle.

Im genuinely interested if he's chatted with thelwell privately and said what the hells going on with the forwards wingers and fullbacks. Is this really the best you could do.

We do need players, but you can also get more out of players with a better manager.

Just last night we saw Mykolenko play the best he's done all season, get forward more, and actually ping some crosses in. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Players like Jacob Murphy and Dan Burn at Newcastle are trash but Howe is a good coach and improving them.

Ancelotti isn't getting this team away from the bottom.

Moyes isn't, either.

Nor Dyche.

Only strong recruitment is.

This team needs massive money spent on it. The last 3 Premier League teams we've played have spent 300-600m the last 3 years. We need to do the same.

At the same time, most of the same bad players didn't play well last night either.

You can lead a horse to water, but if he's a donkey he's still a donkey.

To be fair, you would assume the owners know this? You would assume Moyes is telling them this.

The current inaction is worrying, but we gotta hope theres a plan?

We find in the next 2 or 3 weeks if so.

We have plenty of them.

Being relegated elsewhere isn't conclusive, but when you have an entire front 3 - McNeil (Burnley), Doucoure (Watford) and Harrison (Leeds) - players who are never going to give you a baseline of goals - you start to think maybe it's no coincidence we can't score goals.

*we miss McNeil.

Yeh I'm not saying every player was hamstrung under Dyche, some are just bad (see my rage at Doucoure and Harrison before a ball was kicked).

The squad isn't great but fully fit it is not an 18th-20th squad - we showed that last season when we effectively finished 12th. We haven't gone backwards just losing Onana who spent most of the year with a broken neck watching the ball soar over his head.

Suspect/hope they have big plans for the summer.

Either way - they'll know they have to buy half a squad then given amount of players leaving.

You know what I agree.

I said we needed to see if it was the players or the manager, now 1 game isnt conclusive, but, well.

So we made the change, have we downgraded? I dont think so, so the manager is the "same", so im leaning more towards it being the players.

In short, sign some players, The Summer will be "great" reset time, but can we get enough quality in Jan?

All a bit yikes really.

My longheld opinion is only recruitment, not a manager, get us away from the bottom of the table.

Lampard. Dyche. Moyes.

Doesn't matter - I'll defend any Everton manager trying to get goals from this team. Because I know it's recruitment that's failed the club, that's on no manager since Koeman.

Moyes has been here a few days and making jokes he's burned out trying to work out how to get goals from this team. He's right.

So when we're still struggling and fans are turning on Moyes, I'll be here - saying sign him some players. As I was Lampard. As I was Dyche.
Part of this problem is having a DOF & manager who don’t see eye to eye on players. They both have to sign off on the player but as we saw in the summer this results in players not being signed. Let’s hope Thelwell & Moyes are on the same page.
