2024/25 David Moyes

Better tell that to Moyes. He's constantly saying how right Dyche was about Everton.
Don't exaggerate mate. He never even mentioned Dyche in today's press conference and there has only been 2 to date. It is common practice and good etiquette for new Managers to give fellow managers pats on the back when they have replaced them in their first press conference. Dyche and Moyes are friends as well. You are reading into it too much.

Post Villa match he couldn't stop talking about him.

A team that works on nothing but defensive shape and set-pieces is under-coached.

Nobody would bat an eyelid at seeing this written about Pulis or Bruce, and Dyche is no different than the likes of them.

It’s just ridiculous that some people think that this group of players could get 48 points in the premier league despite being undercoached.

It is seriously seriously overrating their ability. This lot can barely pass a ball yet people think Dyche just did very little and the attacking talents of McNeil Harrison Doucoure and Calvert Lewin waltzed their way to 48 points themselves?

Almost as bad as when people started taking Jamie O Hara’s opinion on talksport as useful

That squad of players got 48 points last season, if anyone for a single second thinks they’re so good that they got this total despite being undercoached then they need their head checking.

I can well imagine Young Tarkowski Branthwaite and Mykolenko forming the 4th best defence in the league just by chatting amongs themselves. After all, look at all the pace and technique they have.
Bang on this.

That hoofball got us 48 points last season. Dyche isn't solely to blame for us being crap right now. Those players have a lot to answer for as well.

Possibly links to the DCL volleying corners rumour.

Not saying it's not true but this type of thing gets reported every time there's a managerial change anywhere. It starts with 'Senior players at the club are believed to have been unhappy with the relaxed approach of Manager X and felt standards at the club had slipped, they feel the stricter approach of Manager Y with his system of fines for being late, breaching dress code standards etc is a better fit for the culture of the club' and ends with 'Senior players at the club are believed to have been unhappy with the strict approach of Manager Y...'.

It’s the most difficult league in the world. People can say that the style being coached is not one they enjoy which is fine, but to seriously think that these players weren’t coached and just blundered their way to 48 points is utterly laughable.

When Amadou Onana left for Aston Villa, he was asked about the differences between Dyche and Emery and told the interviewer that Emery is a "tactical freak" with much longer practices, whereas Dyche just wants to focus on "long balls, second balls." Both Onana's comments and this article reflect exactly what we've seen as supporters watching the team every week. There were a lot of poor clubs last season, and we got a lot of wins against them (Luton being the exception).

I think it comes down to how big of an achievement you consider 48 points to be.

It's not uncommon for awful teams with awful managers to have the odd season where everything goes right and they finish comfortable in mid-table, especially if all three promoted teams are dead on arrival.

There's also the fact that we had the 11th highest wage bill and 5th highest paid manager to consider, as these only add to making it less of a miracle.

I dont think Dyche was the same manager this year as last, and I dont think his tactics this year were the same as last. I think he gave up and changed them.

On the flip side of this argument, one could say "its ridiculous that some people think that this manager could get 48 points in the premier league despite poor players".
