2024/25 David Moyes

Watching some of Moyes’ coaching videos on YouTube and it makes me think he is the guy to get the best out of ndiaye and lindstrom. He managed get central players like Pienaar and Osman producing while playing wide and did this while really only having Baines and later Coleman as the true wide players in the squad. See similarities with the conundrum today with ndiaye, lindstrom, and Paterson.

He was able to get a great tune out of Antonio and Arnautovic as well. Maybe DCL will benefit.

Ffs mate it's Friday night...

Of course it wasn't his fault. I just don't think he would have been able to do what Moyes did over that 11 year period. It's great management, even if it didn't result in a trophy.
If only Moyes just could've had that bit of extra financial backing around 2008/2009 to help us kick on.

Our "dearly beloved" chairman was unable or unwilling to come up with the funds though. Of course he was cheated out of taking us into the Champions League group stages as well.

The money from that could have really transformed the club. Just one of many Everton that moments that was sadly!

That team of 2008//09 that lost Arteta,Jagielka and Yakubu to serious injury within 4 months of each other was a body blow.

Doesn’t help that Collina was totally bent!

There was some sort of commotion about letting the rs into the competition or not that season. It was payback from Uefa over it.

That lot as we know are the club that can always do no wrong with the establishment. It was just Uefa's way of keeping us in our place that was.
Was outrageous. Fair enough, we lost early in the UEFA, but how much of that was down to the players being down due to getting screwed out of the Champion’s League?
