2024/25 David Moyes

Baffles me when people say the league is poor. I think there is a lot of very good sides, much more so than there used to be.
I think it's probably more that there used to be a gap between the top 6 and everyone else. Now there are 15ish decent sides and the bottom ones are absolutely diabolical. And guess which exclusive club we have allowed ourselves to join . . .

Crumbling a little bit. But because Newcastle, Villa and Forest have their best sides in a generation, and the likes of Fulham, Bournemouth, Brighton have their best sides maybe ever.

There is a lot of money in the league. If you plan well and spend well you can build a competitive team. We have even seen promoted teams coming up and spending. Our mismanagement has come at a terrible time and we have been jumped over by teams that were playing in a division or 2 lower not so long ago.

For me, (with current players);

3-4-2-1
Branthwaite, Tarkowski, O'Brien
McNeil (LWB), Garner, Mangala/Gana, Patterson (RWB)
Ndiaye and Lindstrom behind the striker
Beto.

When Iroegbunam is fit, could try 4-3-3 with him at the tip of a midfield triangle.

But, yes, we do need players.
Not too far off what I would have. Unfortunately managers often don't play to their personnel and play teams more to their comfort. I really felt Dyche missed a trick not trying a legitimate back 3 with Obrien and Branners and that solid duo of Mangala/Gueye/Garner/Tim in front. Not only would we have been more secure, we would have had better coverage for our two wide players to get forward.
