2024/25 David Moyes

Moyes can elevate players such that I've gone from thinking we need a complete 100% overhaul to thinking maybe a 50% overhaul or less.

Feel will will be back having the biggest team coming looking for world class talent in the next few years rather than losing half decent players to Villa and Newcastle and Spurs.

I think under Dyche we were happy to carry players at times. I hope Moyes is able to iron that out. Yesterday in the last 20 minutes we were reverting to that a tad in the case of Doucoure and Young who had no legs.

It’s difficult with the lack of quality in the squad but hopefully Moyes can sort out these melt downs and instil a winning mentality. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised we held on yesterday.

Let’s be honest though we were playing a Spurs reserve side obliterated by injuries. Really good first half but second half nearly shot ourselves in the foot.

I’m made up with the three points but let’s see how we do against an in form Brighton. Go there and get points as the previous guy did and I’ll be more confident in our ability to get the points we need to move clear of the bottom.

Saw more in the villa and yesterdays game from Dave (and also the cup tie tbh) to show that the former manager was lying, disingenuous shithouse fraud who couldn’t manage or coach his way out of a paper bag. Moyes has given us a glimpse of what our Everton should be about.

Players who been disgracefully overlooked given an opportunity, in a shape and system that plays to our available strengths, and a clear instruction to get forward more and support the forwards - night and day to what has gone before.

Moyes wasn’t my first pick by any stretch, but he’s light years ahead of Dyche and if he continues to show improvements he can keep piping me down as much as he likes.

No surprise yesterday that we went crap when young and Keane entered the fray - hopefully he’s assessing just how bad they are and will punt them. Obrien and lindstrom should have been playing many more games.

The likes of Armstrong, Tim Iroegbunam, garner, Patterson, Dixon, Beto and others can all offer more under Moyes instead of the ususal wage thieves doing naff all - I hope he gives them the opportunities to show us.

Onwards and upwards davey, keep going.

Another 6 wins out of the final 17 games should see us safe. I think we will probably do better than that under Moyes tbh. Feeling a bit more optimistic now after yesterdays first half performance and Moyes refreshingly honest conferences. Get him a few reinforcements as he said he needs and relegation battles should be a thing of the past.

6 wins would be more than enough and see us comfortable. Another 4 would put us on 8 wins for the season, as things stand I can't see 2 of the 4 sides below us equaling that.

One thing about his teams in the past was they were capable of going on a bit of a run and winning 4 or 5 in quick succession. If he can do that we’ll pull away.

Yes, Spurs were awful at the back but I have my doubts that the Dyche team would have been able to exploit their weaknesses.

The intent and positive attitude is just simply miles away from the last few weeks. Ndiaye playing centrally, but being allowed to drift, was the easiest decision Moyes could have made, but Dyche seemed to never even consider it. Lindstrom especially looked like he had more confidence on the ball, as if he has actually been told that he is allowed to attack (with still an eye on work rate and tracking back).

Ok, ok Chic's... I hear you.

But call it now and give us a prediction, lad.
What do you think the result will be next weekend away to Brighton, with the 32-year-old wunderkind Fabian not even breaking a sweat at Old Trafford yesterday? 🤔
I don’t do predictions sozza man.

We beat a terrible team at Goodison yesterday, won’t go overboard myself, they were a shipwreck.
