How many players have come through their academies the last few years? These are the biggest clubs in the league with huge reach and im sure im missing somebody, but I make it 1 each in Foden and TAA.

I think people expect too much from youth set ups.

Everybody points at the United team, but thats a rare, rare exception.

I know Arsenal are doing ok with theirs atm, but these things are quite rare.

I think leicester's academy should be the model they don't have to be superstars just can range range from quality players like Barnes , promising ones like dewsberry-hall and just decent squad players like Justin and Choudhury. not expecting class of 92 type of production line but more than just one player every 5 years transitioning to the first team and playing on a regular basis while providing something to the team. in fact if we had a couple adequate academy players that could offer some form of temporary coverage our injury woes wouldn't be so devastating

It's a really shoddy thing to do - you've got no clue whether there's truth, or 'guilt' to it. You wouldn't like it if there was some "allegations" on a very busy public platform about you or your immediate family would you?

You're not the first and won't be the last but we can't host allegations like that on here, it does nobody any favours.

Yet, it's not as simple as that, which I suspect @GrandOldTeam is alluding to; now, we sadly have trial by media and social media, which can have lasting impacts.

Look at Cliff Richard as an example of where unsubstantiated allegations spouted and repeated through the media and online have tarred him.

I get that . but again I’ve only said allegations. i Hope it’s wrong because besides of my opinion of unsworth ( liked him as a player for a while , think he’s been one of the leeches at the club for a while and he’s the only one tbf ) it does Everton no favours at all.

I get your point although you could argue using the word 'allegedly' or simply saying they're 'allegations' is merely semantics. The damage is still done.

If the people saying them are credible enough and/or it's repeated enough times, the perspective shifts towards being essentially true* rather than allegations.

The issue with media is that it's too easy for allegations to reach across the globe, and they can be there for eternity unless removed, again increasing the damage.

Saying he got a job because of nepotism is one thing, but suggesting he's been playing away can impact on his family life, relationships and whatever else.

*Not legally, but in the perspective of the masses.
