How random are they when they see the player more than the two experts you point to?

I dont know what Walsh and Koeman think of Klaassen (hopefully they dont think enough of him to bring him here) but I do know what the Ajax supporter thinks of him and is getting at. Having seen the player a few times myself, what he stated crystallised my own view on the player.

I prefer to focus more on the fact that we accumulated more points (total, not just per game) in the 14 games he played than in the 24 that he didn't. Scored nearly twice as many in those games, and conceded almost 30% less.

The bit in bold is a brilliant bit of circular logic though. Any player who has a queue of CL level teams looking to sign them is VERY unlikely to sign for Everton at this moment in time. So by your definition any signing we DO make will be a disappointment. Which of course fits in perfectly with your chosen outlook on the club. Nicely done.

Well I for one will welcome him with open arms. I won't pretend I've seen a load of him but he has a decent record up to now and if he can step up to the mark then why should anybody not give him a fair chance, but I do understand the point you're making.

This will be a case of trusting the manager to spend the cash wisely. He knows him more than we do and will have his idea that he can make the step up from the Eredivisie to the PL.

Personally I look at the few games I have seen and I wondered what all the fuss was about....reading between the lines I suspect that's your view too....

Basically yes mate, i have no doubt he also ticks a lot of boxes for Walsh as well in regards to stats analysis.

One positive is that Koeman has never been one to over praising modern Dutch players, so if he likes him then it bodes well (possibly)

He seems (on limited watches of him) a player who knits together that space from midfield to attack for Ajax and is often the one changing play so to speak, all stuff we lack people capable of doing to a great degree.

Hell, he gets a huge plus from me if he just gets himself often into the box and stuff as we have been criminally bad for lacking that type of player since Cahill left

Not jumping for joy at signing him (if we do), but similarly optimistic about him (and compared to some linked with absolutely relieved)

It's not deniable and it's not sustained as a proposition. Let's see how he does first over a number of games.

I have my doubts. He goes missing in big games, has fitness issues, and I think he's more limited than others realise.
