Baltic Fleet, Old Lion on Tithebarn street.

My mate runs Dead Crafty on Dale Street which is well worth a look also.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot the Ship & Mitre
Dead crafty is a cracking boozer especially if your into that type of Beer , even if you aren’t it’s really decent . As you say Along Ship & mitre is recommended and along Dale street the Excelsior is an old school boozer and even the Angus isn’t too bad . I’d always recommend the Denbigh just off on Hackins Hey because it’s a proper pub and owned by Evertonians , decent pint and good service

I know @COYBL25 recommends the Baltic Market , few years ago I was of a similar mind . Post covid I think it’s a bit concert square but just my opinion, also you’ll be overpaying . That said bongos bingo is always a great experience.

On Hannover Street and now on the bottom of bold street the two German Albert pubs , Albert Schloss (the big one on bold ) and Schenke on Hannover . Not too expensive, nice interiors , mixed crowds and service is ok.

As always in my opinion the Bridewell is up there as the best pub in town , always busy but no waiting . @Barnfred 55 will highly recommend I’m sure .

Loads of decent places mate , really depends what you’re looking for .

Fly in the Loaf is a bit meffy but always has good ale, as well.

Dale Street is a good start as mentioned above.
The Ship & Mitre at the top where the flyover used to be is a real ale haven.
Thomas Rigbys a bit further down serves a decent pint as well.

If you’re loaded and fancy a cocktail, then deffo go in The Alchemist just around the corner in Brunswick street. One of those places that does quirky cocktails with dry ice and all that. Worth going in for one just for the experience.

Yeah like I say it depends what people are looking for , the Castle Street end be it McGuffies , Black Barrel or down to the Alchemist has a very different feel but can be a good night .

There was one somewhere around Matthew Street, pre gentrification.

A real Dickensian mix of petty criminals, faded theatricals, hardened drinkers, and chancers.

You could buy loads of 'spillage' items from the Docks, and witness some fantastic scraps.

Happy days.

We used to go into the Curzon club, in Temple Lane, we had no idea that it was actually a very discreet gay club lol
