Transfer Rumour Dele Alli

Anyone saying he's not good enough you need to give your heads a wobble, since he's moved to Spurs he's scored 50 goals in the 5 years, I'd be fairly confident to say that this is more goals than all of our midfielders combined over the same period.
We don't have goal scoring mids we need a goal scoring midfield.
It's a no brainer for me.

That's why I think it was rumoured that Levy was looking for him to go out an 18 month loan deal because he still see's Alli as a future asset. He's still only 24, his contract is up in 2024 so even after an 18 month contract he would still have plenty left on his Spurs contract. If Alli does the bizz at another club Levy can ask for big bucks, or Spurs get a quality player back with a better attitude etc.

The interesting bit would be how much Levy would ask for an 18 month loan deal from another club and if he would expect said club to pay all of Alli's £100k a week.

Levy's thinking is sensible really and simiar to ours re Moise Kean.

Alli sitting on his backside, twiddling his thumbs getting more frustrated is just reducing his value. His banging goals in for PSG, or playing regularly for us (as a consolation) is at least getting him in the shop window.

There will be some bluster about big loan fees, but he will want him in the shop window for the next 18 months. If someone can get his career back on track, they may get £50m + in 18 months, whereas if he sits in the reserves at Spurs nobody is committing to his wages come the summer.

To give some context, he's scored 50 odd goals in 160 games for Spurs in the league. Cahill, who is probably the best we've seen in the PL at doing similar had 50 odd goals in 223 games. Imagine getting a Tim Cahill who was more creative and scored 25% more goals than him.

Just had a look at Cahill, he was 1 in 3 the 1st season and just under the first 4. So you're getting a "peak Cahill" before he got a bit older, the one that helped us get into Europe regularly. If that player was available on loan, we'd all have him.

Not what we need anyway. We need a pacey forward who can play across the front line.

Good player and I'm not turning my nose up at him. But after our latest set of accounts it's clear we have to prioritise.

Just to play devils advocate a little mate, he's quite quick, and can certainly play down the middle. I was actually very impressed with him down the middle last season as a 9.

Dele Alli is nothing at all like Cahill. Cahill would run through brick walls for you, he was a proper leader, Alli is scared of getting a bit of mud on his kit.

I remember seeing Cahill take his shirt off once.
His whole upper body was covered in tape so he could play whilst injured.

The fella is one of my all time favourite Everton players and I hope he gets a good coaching roll at the club if he wants it. That’s not a ‘jobs for the boys’ either, the fella was a TOP pro.

I think he was playing at a very good level before Mourinho. Mourinho wherever he goes always casts aside a high-profile player. He just takes a disliking to someone to show his strength. In this case its Dele Alli who at the stage in his career he was supposed to kick-on, he's been cast to the bench.

In his position now he should be jumping at the chance to

You think he was playing at a good level before Mourinho? He really wasn't. yoyre just throwing hearsay together to justify a move for a player that you deem as valuable but hasn't proved that for a significant amount of time. If you're banking on getting a player in over a weak reputation then that's exact the moronic way we've been signing places recently. Theres a reason why he's not playing and you can't always blame Mourinho. He'll play you if you're good enough it's that simple

It doesn't matter what Ancelotti can do because Alli doesn't posses the attributes we critically need in the first place. He is overrated and the vast majority of people can see that.

Dude is an extremely talented footballer, but he exhibits a highly questionable mentality towards the game. Seems to put in alot of half assed performances and doesn't exert himself even in training according to that spurs documentary. Everton already have a team of dawdlers and disinterested players when the situation becomes daunting. Also we already have four number ten type players, need an actual winger

Fair point about disinterested players. Our due diligence on players has been poor in the main since david moyes. Bought far to many who's character has been suspect. Here for an expensive holiday.
I skirted over the comparison above with cahill. Absolute chalk n cheese characters and mentality.

He's put in top performances against some of the best clubs in the world including Real Madrid... that was a while back though, would still take him on loan all day every day.
