2021/22 Dele Alli

Lampard did say he was bought for the long term.

As with Patterson and Mykolenko, I think one eye was on the summer and having a full preseason with a recycling of players to build a new team.

Youre right about Eriksen but with Lampards attacking style there 'should' be increased chance creation from the flanks and midfield once new signings are brought in.
Probably correct on this in bold but wrong decision now with hindsight. I don't think Lampard thought we'd be this bad and where we are now in the table nor do I think he thought we'd lose games like Newcastle away, Wolves at home and Southampton away. Tbf most of us thought we could get about 4 or 5 points there which would have us sitting safe right now. Hopefully we stay up and his plan pays off for next season but with hindsight it would've made more sense getting a center half and right back or a proper holding midfielder imo.

If the upfront fees for Mykolenko and Patterson equalled the Digne fee + their combined wages were below his then weve perhaps landed 2 players for the price of one.

Thats something i can get behind based on both their potential ceilings and it looks exciting for next season if these are the types of deals were looking to do.

As you say, its all dependant on finishing in the top 17 this season.

Alli, what on earth has happened to this player from the brilliant youngster of only a few years ago. I don't think it's injury related in which case he must have lost his motivation.

He needs to rediscover his form and quickly. Fingers crossed.

Well its obviously easier to integrate into a new team when things are a bit rosier. Expecting him to prove his worth whilst we are being humped 5-0 by Spurs wont work.

Whatever attacking player we play or bring on just stands on his own whilst we keep giving the ball away further downfield anyway.

It was not the signing we needed this January for me, if we can get this season out of the way without going down he may prove useful if we can start putting together some semblance of a functioning team.
Exactly - it's dogs of war time to get out of this. Burnley and Watford would kick the sht out of him. We need a tune from Delph imo next couple of games

He literally hasnt done anything at all to suggest he's had a bad attitude since joining?
Dele's entire body language has been someone that wants to put minimal effort in to whatever he's doing.
When you're earning £100k a week you should be putting blood, sweat and tears in to everything you do. Maybe he quickly saw the other players weren't doing it so he hasn't bothered or maybe he gave up long before he left Spurs. Either way, he looks like a player that just doesn't like playing football any more.

Ship him back to who?, he is an Everton player, he doesn't play for Spurs anymore we didn't loan him it was a permanent transfer.
The actual transfer, though, is unusual with Everton signing Alli on an initial free transfer with £10m payable after 20 appearances. The player will be able to make only 18 Premier League appearances this season because he is cup-tied.1 Feb 2022

I see the body language experts are out again writing off another player.

The same thing was written about Richarlison for years and how he clearly didn’t want to be at Everton because he had a face on when now it’s pretty clear Richarlison is probably the biggest blue in the squad outside of Gordon and Coleman and the lad still has a face like a slapped arse at all times on the pitch.

This is mere speculation, he came on v city and gave everything, he came on v Wolves and was getting pretty aggressive towards Wolves players and wound up by us losing

People just choose a narrative to take, Dele hasn't done anything wrong and people need to get off his back, mental

What has he done to show he has had a positive attitude. He is supposed to be a class player, if he was so good why did Spurs let him go ?
Show us the stats for passes, chances created, shots, tackles ?

Maybe it`s jealousy, based on the fact that he drives a Roller and doesn`t have a Mick Kegger, short back and sides ?
