2021/22 Dele Alli

I dont think it's an issue of buyers remorse more of which was touched upon by other posters, that he doesn't fit the composition of player profiles that we currently employ. I think without a stalwart all out defensive mid head rather have iwobi at ten because he'll track back and we also dont have any creative Midfielders like james who can pass and put him in position to generate chances. Maybe VDB but we're so reliant on him fulfilling other roles because of the massive calamitous recruitment over the years. I think if we can garner some confidence and eke out some wins he'll be incorporated into the team more.

Eriksen is a dedicated professional who desperately wants to play the game and devoted his recovery time to getting fit and ready for his return. Dele Alli is an absolute waster who hasn't played a decent game of football since January 2019, has well documented off the field issues, and seemingly doesn't give a toss as long as some unlucky mark pays his wages.
Did dele bang your mom or something? lol You seem to have an extensive amount of vitriol towards him. If it's just you dont deem him a skilled player anymore that's cool but it seems like they're might be a deeper issue at play.

No, we own him

Thanks... i went back and looked up the details after i posted.

What do you think is going on then? How do you not 'train' as hard as the others? There are training videos on the website. Obviously not the complete picture but he looks to be doing the same as everyone else.

I get the first few games they were trying to get him on the pitch. Then he's disappeared in the last few games.

Simon Jordan absolute destroyed him on Talk Sport this morning.

After listening to him for a while - because i like Talk Sport (and radio shows) in general and he's entertaining because he speaks fast and has a bit of wit, I find that he jumps to conclusions way too often. But that is not surprising given he's on 3 hours a day 5 days a week and has to say something. There's no way he can follow all these sports, to the level that an Everton fan follows Everton. The way in the past was to be more diplomatic and reasonable and give teams and players the benefit of the doubt ("oh he'll come good soon"), but now just to get a sound bite out - people like Simon Jordan will have a go, because in the here and now, that's what a lot of people want to hear, and two weeks later - everyone will forget about it, but they end up picking up a lot of listeners and subscribers.

Crystal Palace game - he said Everton downed their tools. Yes probably after the third goal went in. I would bet most teams do. That's human psychology, the game is over. The first two goals were massive defensive errors. The last two were rebounds. We lost anyway and when you're losing you're open to having more goals scored against you, if you're chasing, especially a cup tie. It's easy for most people to agree with Simon, people will see 4-0 and agree. We were horrible but we deserve more nuance.

Regarding Dele - easy to destroy him because he can't reply. Dele should just call up and tell it like it is.

Looked at when he last started a game and was at the start of this season, he played in a midfield 3 that worked hard

Not sure why he isn't selected to do the same role here

Is he not training as hard as others? I just don’t think Lampard knows how to use him.

IO was worried about him signing as we'd all watched his decline at spurs but he's 25 and was hoping he could turn it around. I would at least like to see him start. Again we keep losing and players are retaining their places, we need to try something different up front as DCL and Richy aren't performing and scoring.

He was/is a gamble, and one that a club in our position simply can't afford, on any level, to take. A ridiculous transfer for us.

Some people are not grasping the fact he is an Everton player, not on loan from Spurs, we can't send him back. It isn't hard to understand.

His last good game for Spurs was against Liverpool at White Heart Lane earlier in the season, when he seemed to play as the forward tip of a midfield diamond, making some great runs into the box behind the forwards, and had some good chances.

However, he was receiving passes from Kane, Son, and the Spurs midfield and beyond Richarlson I’m not sure we have the players to use him in that role. I think Frank took him as an extra experienced body without having considered about how we might use him.

Think he has quality myself. Hes a bit of a luxary as you have to play him with two in behind or as part of a three. I see him in a Cahill role, supporting the centre forward.

Difficulty is to my mind we havent had two consisitent central midfilders to play with him since hes been here and we need results.

He may have a role to play if we get a bit of luck with players if fit.

To be honest its a player like Jamo and Gylfi we are missing, we cant penetrate two deep banks of four.

A lot of talk seems to be around, he doesn't train hard enough. People are just assuming that based on what's happened at Spurs.

Dele is a 10, and most teams don't even use a 10 so its prob hard to fit him in.

If he wore nicer, more "flamboyant" clothes, I suspect more people would rush to his defence.

If I were his agent, I'd suggest a skirt shirt.
