It’s primed for renegotiation. At the minute the structure doesn’t serve Everton, the player or spurs.
The structure wasnt particularly bad, looked to protect all sides, but it’s not panned out well. It would be sensible to restructure giving spurs some possiblility of a payment, with Everton and deli the incentive to at least give him another chance.
I don’t believe it will work out but, at the minute there is a strait jacket around his career

Agreed a sensible decision would be to renegotiate but doesn’t that therefore show it was the structure of the deal that created the straitjacket in the first place?

Everton thought we can get a few games off of him for very little, Tottenham by giving so few games before payment clauses kick in thought that they would get the money. Neither cared for the person in the middle.

Can Dyche inspire Dele? Does Dele have the talent? Yes! His problem lies in desire, hunger and actually enjoying playing football but i suspect he is too far gone for him to save his career at even sunday league level
I suspect Dyche may scope him out when hes back at base - not sure Everton will take any more risk onnhim though as its money better spent else where. Its a shame the lad had talent that cant just have dissapeared so i suspect sadly that it must be a mental health issue. I dont think Jose Morinho probably helped the lads confidence much..

Got to be one of the biggest career nosedives in recent history this.

He was more or less where Bellingham is now at one point.
Not quite those levels but concur about the fall from grace, should and could've been amongst the best around based on initial form. I find it quite sad really. Bad advice or just ignorant to any advice he did get. Polar opposite to Bellingham who seems to have a strong support network round him. Kids eh 🤷‍♂️

Take your point but I suppose we thought he would be 100% failure or 100% success.
What we never counted for was where he is looking pretty poor but actually did at time show a bit of promise that might prove useful, but not at 40m.
Quite a difficult scenario to account for in advance.

It’s at least £13m down the 🚽 in wages alone (less anything offset by loans), quite the hedge.

His clubs should be ashamed?….. he’s got agents / managers whose sole focus (after their own financial gain) is his well being and career trajectory. I’ve no doubt Everton would offer any help wanted, do he and his advisors actually want it though? Did they offer him to Everton on 1/2 his existing wages to take some off this pressure off him?
No one is forcing him to do anything, if whatever is going on is that bad for his health, he does have the option to walk away. Can’t see Everton standing in the way of saving themselves several million.

As for his future, it’s in his own hands more than anyone else’s. He has been given a financial ‘foot up’ most can only dream of. How he chooses to use it is on him. He is in the fortunate position to make any choices he wants, pay for any help he needs, choose whatever life he wants.

Levy just wanted his wages off the books with the insurance if that he did turn his career around at Everton Spurs would be well compensated.

Levy knows how to pull our pants down.

Seeing he's had a fair percentage of this years wage paid for by besiktas it won't be that much and again had we not had him in the squad for the Palace game we would have had to persist with Gomes or bring on Davies to try and resurrect that game and probably wouldn't have and we would have gone down. That alone is worth 10 million so hardly down the toilet!

You have a point about the wages but they were getting market value, no one could know he was a completely busted flush at that moment and even if he had been on 30k we would have still not given him any time because of that 40 million swinging axe above our heads. So my point remains, the makeup of that deal gave him next to no chance to succeed and push him faster and further down the spiral he is in.

We stayed up by 4 points even though we lost the last game. We could have lost to Palace and still stayed up, although Dele's contribution that night is at least more than many have produced in a blue shirt.

If Leeds and Burnley knew they would both likely stay up with wins then it might have changed the whole mindset of that final day. Certainly wouldn't have helped my stress levels. Has it been a successful signing? Of course not, but throwing the money down the toilet or alike is an overstatement. We've had plenty more players who cost more and contributed less in the grand scheme of things.

Because some people like to be offended by everything and even get offended on behalf of other people ?
Absoltely, mate. I saw that picture and thought it lovely to see him and friends preparing for a childs party by blowing up balloons - and with the good sense to be only taking soft drinks. Imagine my shock at seeing the accusations that some have dreamt up.

It’s only a balloon and a bit of snus, don’t know why everyone fumes about stuff like this.

Nitrous oxide can cause nerve damage and spinal cord damage

Yeah. Not sure why everyone is fuming

No club will want to sign him now. He's been nothing but a liability

Signed by "Chairman Bill" Kenwright

It's as legal as having a drink so I wouldn't hold your breath on this one.
And less harmful to anyone’s physical fitness than a night on the pints, and no one bats an eyelid when footballers do that.

The lad seems to be finished as a footballer and maybe the fact someone took the photo and shared it tells you something about the people he hangs out with, but what he’s actually doing there means nothing.

He's back with a knee injury that may need surgery.

Yeah its "risk free". o_O

Physical health risks

  • It is very dangerous to inhale nitrous oxide directly from the canister, and doing it in an enclosed space is also very dangerous.
  • Never place a plastic bag over your head.
  • If you take too much nitrous oxide you risk falling unconscious and/or suffocating from the lack of oxygen. People have died this way.
  • Dizziness, which might make you act carelessly or dangerously.
  • Heavy regular use of nitrous oxide can lead to a deficiency of vitamin B12 and to a form of anaemia. Severe B12 deficiency can lead to serious nerve damage, causing tingling and numbness in the fingers and toes. This can be very painful and make walking difficult. It can even lead to paralysis, and the damage may be lasting.
  • Regular use can stop you forming white blood cells properly.
  • It can be hard to judge the amount to use safely. If you have too much you can end up fainting, having an accident or worse.
