As a responsible employer and (supposedly) professional operation the club has a duty to get him over his injury and ready for next season. Dyche saying the right things is part of that.

Best we can hope for is he performs well in the pre-season friendlies/first 6 games and someone takes him off our hands.

He's done his heart isn't in it. Not a chance he would work hard enough for Dyche. Would have to be some turnaround over six games to make him worth the ten million

Makes you wonder why no one at the club had their ear to the ground over Deli. It can't be difficult to find out these days what was going on. I agree with you that we now need to be responsible for his well being but I would question why we didn't leave Spurs to look after him

Because we are the worst run club in the Prem, possibly the country, would be my guess.

When you can sign a very high-profile player and there is zero competition for his signature alarm bells should be ringing.

It’s up to the lad now, he’s going to get pre season, to earn a squad place. If he does - we have a decision then, is he worth 10 mill pound for the season. Ultimately that rests with the lad and what he does.

The manager wouldn’t be doing his job properly if he didn’t look at everything that’s available to him to improve, but I’m pretty sure he won’t carry any passengers either.

Its up to the lad now, he won’t get many more chances in his career.

10 million gets you 7 games
Then you’re on a countdown to the next 10

It’s an impossible situation

The talk of resurrecting his career and fitness is bluster.

Pray he gets a few preseason goals so that it looks like he’s reformed and back on loan with him.

If Dyche thinks he’s worth it then we should re-negotiate with Spurs as it’s in everyone’s interest.

Tell them that there is no way in million years we will give him the games that trigger a £10 mill payment - and clearly this is the situation. But drop it to £1 million and we’ll give the lad a fair chance.
