Nice theory. You're ignoring the fact that Spurs gave him to us for free in the first place though, I suspect that Daniel Levy will think he's already done enough to try to give Dele Alli a chance to resurrect his career at minimal cost to Everton.
Pushing back the initial fee by 10 games, and in exchange Spurs get a % if we sell for money in January seems like it would be a great outcome all round… especially for the player

Watching that in work definitely wasn’t the play, emotional stuff and will have to watch the second half later. Totally normal reactions to trauma which he’s been desperately trying to sort by himself for years.

Would absolutely love for him to come good and just imagine the reception he’ll get if he plays the opener against Fulham. Shame about the red tape and finances potentially getting in the way. What a player when he’s on song and in a good headspace. Good on ya Dele.

Standing by the original agreement, and in the event of no other club wanting him, forcing Everton to either play him and pay Spurs the £10m or pay Alli huge wages for sitting on the bench is not a bad outcome for Spurs.

Any negotiations suggested on here are cooked up by people wearing blue tinted glasses. The Dele Alli financial situation is our problem, of our own making, and Spurs owe us nothing. Not a favour, not an extension, not a grace period. Nothing. The deal was agreed by all parties.

It’s not us that they owe anything to, it’s the young lad that they’ve pretty clearly done a p|ss poor job of fulfilling their duty of care towards

The man who's just done an interview discussing things he says he's never spoken about before and gone into rehab to address issues and addictions he's kept from everyone all these years? You have absolutely no idea what Spurs have done to try to help him in his professional and persons life, but on the face of it, it appears he made it very difficult for anyone to help him before this summer. You cannot help someone who doesn't want helping.

Brave thing for him to do, not to mention incredibly mature.

Glad our club is supporting him but Spurs could have done better and owe him one really.

Up to Dyche really - I'm guessing he doesn't try the on the mind games that Mourinho and Conte do, so it may be a better place for Dele.

Or if Pochettino is a father figure, a loan to Chelsea ?
When Mourinho called him lazy in the Amazon doc I thought that is Delli finished at the top level.
To be tarred with that no club will entertain him.

Mourinho should be called out for doing it without knowing what the lad was going through just for a cheap shot.
Then to apologise in private to him stinks.

Great to see Delli get the help he badly needed , looks like he's in a far better place. Just hope he continues to get back to some sort of normality wether it's with us ( I'd personally like to see that ) or with another club.
