The very simple answer to Deli’s footballing problem is for Spurs to renegotiate the contract and change the 20 game clause thus allowing Everton and Deli some time and space to get himself back on track. While his problem are his own Spurs have been his employers for far longer than us and, if help is going to be afforded to Deli then Spurs have a moral obligation to chip in.
Levy doesn't do ' re negotiations on contracts mate, we're stuck with the situation we've got and we'll need to deal with it.
Levy has his faults but being a hard nosed businessman isn't one of them.
He's tied Kenwright up in knots with this one.

Fix would be. Sell to say Leeds or Southampton for 1 million. But we have a buy back clause of say 500k. Essentially it's a loan but because a permanent transfer has been made, technically, the contract with Spurs would cease.

We buy back in January or next summer if his career has turned round.

The other party, say Leeds in this scenario, get a loan and if we decide not to buy back they can keep him.

But , this deal also ties up Spurs in knots and prevents them from having any chance of getting any money back in transfers from Dele.

We, I think, cannot afford to play Dele because of the 10m trigger.
This means he will probably go on loan and in twelve months time is a fee agent.

If the deal could be restructured to allow him play an addional ten games with the seven already remaining and if he was lucky enough to return to his form of a number of years ago I think we would gladly pay the fee... we would have a good player... Spurs have a chance to earn 40m.

If it doesn't work for Dele , they have not lost anything but at least gave the player a chance to play.

I suspect you are correct in that Levy has that reputation, him up against Kenwright isn’t really a fair contest.
