2022/23 Dele Alli

Iwobi could be seriously injured and our last remaining hope could be recalling Alli to play games that trigger serious cash to Spurs? Is this really happening?

No chance, I think we are very happy with Besiktas keeping him for the season, and the fact they are desperate to get rid tells you where he is as a player. We'd have to trigger the first 10m payment to Spurs as well as take back on his wages so it would be costly and we're better off exploring other options.

I hope you are right, but I worry panic will set in.

Hopefully this is a chance for garner and I'd genuinely rather see price be given game time than waste any money by activating clauses on alli. I worry we won't be able to get a transfer/loan out for him in the summer the way it's gone at besiktas

Yeah, I fear we might be stuck with him next season, the only option might be to just pay him up and release him. The only way I can see us recalling him this month is in the incredibly unlikely event we could persuade Poch to take over, in which case he might fancy trying to turn him round.

I know Alli wasn’t really that good, but was his attitude bad while here because I do feel he could have done a job this season for us. But there was also the issue a fee was due for him.

I was desperate to see him turn it around with us, but too many managers have written him off now for it to be a coincidence, the issues clearly run deep. Sadly I don't think he has any future as a footballer, with us or elsewhere.

Also in PL football you can’t really wait and see if someone can improve and come good, you have to impress straight away. We did with DCL he was very lucky we didn’t really have any other strikers so he got along run to prove himself and tbh he still isn’t that good but he is of PL standard, I don’t think we will ever see a striker given as long again in the PL to prove themselves. To much pressure to say give someone a 10 game run to prove themselves nowadays.

Ah but...
Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas are exploring the possibility of cancelling Dele Alli's contract five months into his season-long loan from Everton.

The midfielder, 26, has struggled to rediscover his form in Turkey, playing just nine games and scoring two goals.
Alli agreed a guaranteed £1.94m for the loan plus a maximum of £8,400 per game.

BBC Sport understands a major stumbling block is paying off the £1.14m remaining on the deal.

However, there is however there is no recall option in the loan deal so if Besiktas want to terminate early, they would be liable for the entire loan fee and the remainder of Alli's wages for the season.

Alli's career will make an interesting book one day. One of the best players under 25 in the world in 2015-2018 becomes complete garbage at the age most players hit their prime.
The thing that puzzles me with the guy is that the consensus is that the guy just isn't bothered about football, has a bad attitude, doesn't care about his career. But if he just wanted to pick up cash he could've sat tight at Spurs rather than try to revive his career at Everton, or could've sat tight at Everton rather than try to revive things at Besiktas - I doubt his wages have gone up with either move so he didn't need to agree to those moves if he wasn't bothered.

There must be at least part of him that still cares but just can't get it back - if the issues run deeper than just laziness or bad attitude he should've maybe have received more support at Spurs or even at Everton before being binned off.
