Andros Townsend isn't a bad footballer, and Demari Gray is a steal at £1.5m. Probably offers more depth and consistency than Bolasie, Iwobi, Bernard and Delph combined.

Two bad players are better than our very worst players, is your argument. The shocking thing is it's arguably not true. Besides, Delph and Iwobi aren't going anywhere so Townsend, Gray, Delph, Iwobi or Bolasie, Bernard, Delph, Iwobi, both look horrendous to me.

2nd half of the season last year we had no strategy to get goals though. We were crying out for decent crosses into the box. DCL and Richarlison will score goals with decent service. I'd rather we were bringing in better quality players but I think the idea is right.

It's going to be horrendous, bodies behind the ball and then just lumping it into the box. It'll be like watching a team from the 80s. No top team in world football plays like this any more. Brentford will be playing far better football than us.

They do if they are actually trusted to play by the manager.

They could easily amass more combined minutes than Iwobi, Bernard, Delph and Bolasie.

We need to rid the bench of high earners doing nothing - we cant rid them and not replace them likewise we cant rid them and replace them with £20+ million star players as we are up to our eyeballs with FFP and still need to strengthen the starting 11.

Therefore the answer has to be getting rid of high earners like Benard, Walcott, Toshun etc and replacing them with cheaper players on lesser wages but those who can still offer the squad something in terms of hard work, pace etc. Which our current bench does not have whatsoever.
