Can see why Leicester and co got rid now. Lazy lazy player
I wasn’t excited by his signing and said as much on here and on Twitter, I can see why we did it when you look at his price, but there’s a reason he was so cheap. And I know he was in his last year of his contract when Leicester got 2mil. We got 15 for Barkley and he only had 6months left.

Of course my tweets resurfaced 6/7 games into this season. But I stand by the fact he’s a decent player at best who’s been inconsistently bad more than good in his career.

I think i laid into his signing the most.

I also said i was off the mark about him after the first dozen or so games.

Looks rusty to me and perhaps not fully fit.

At the start of the season someone asked me what would be a good return for him, I said 10 league goals and assists.

Hes 3 off that so nor far off having a statistically good year.

I was also asked if id sell him for £30mil if he achieved that target...

...yes i still would.

I wonder if he can get the same excuse we give DCL for being crap, maybe he's lacking fitness or match time, not seen anyone provide him with the same get out?

Not saying he’s a decent player he is. But he’s got to work hard for the team. He seems at times a luxury player and we can’t afford that kind of player in games, he doesn’t want to track back but will go forward enough times. He needs to be more consistent I agree it’s been brought up a lot in his career he’s just not consistent enough seems to be his major flaw. saw that Brendan Rodgers said the same while he was at Leicester.

See above.

I feel for anyone playing in our front 2/3 in front of the back 3 system. They end up isolated and no one can get the ball to them.
Frank has to play 4-3-3 every week and play youngsters if necessary. That’s the only system we can play that gives us a chance of getting a grip on games. If we had Digne/Coleman in his prime then wingbacks might work, but we don’t, so he needs to stop!

Looked good when our entire game plan was to sit in our half and then play through him on the counter. With half the pitch to run into he’s dangerous, though not good enough to be the main attacking outlet for a team with serious aspirations of top half footy.

Not going to be as effective in a team that want the ball, not as much space for the roadrunner routine and his decision making ain’t great. Townsend and Gray look what they were when signed, pathetic downgrades on James and Siggi.

Looking every penny what we paid for him at the moment. I hope he’s not fully fit. He doesn’t warrant a starting place at the moment and shouldn’t be the go to on the bench either. Needs to be better in and out of possession and link with his teammates as he looks to be all about personal glory. Come on Demarai get your mojo back fella

Leicester fan in peace.

I thought I'd check back in now he's had a few months to 'bed in' and see if his initial impact has continued or he has 'reverted to type.'

Really disappointing to read that he seems to be lazy and his decision making is poor, very much the mantra of him under 4-5 different managers at Leicester and then his short stint overseas. What is really irritating is that I think he has all of the ability but is brainless, rooky golfer ''all the gear but no idea.''

He has bucket loads of pace, good close control, skill in abundance, but when he played for us, you just knew there was no 'end product.'

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, and all the best for next season too.

Camberwell Fox.
