He was always getting sold in my opinion, any player that had a reasonable bid on the table was gone. It was just left till now because selling 3 players on deadline day without being replaced was bad enough nevermind 4. But he's the villain now, job done money banked and gone.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of his situation with Everton, any player going to Saudi Arabia in his peak years is basically not interested in playing at the top level of the game. This move clarifies the true motivations of Demarai Gray, and I for one am pleased to have that flushed out, because, frankly, he was a prime example of why we were at the bottom of the table during his tenure: a low-rent mercenary of mediocre ability. In summary, he is a failed Premier League player. We need rid of these chancers - but I'm pretty sure the solution is not to fall out with them but to sign better players in future.

No one comes out of this looking good. For me if we can get 8 - 10 million, then that's a great deal for the club. Gray has never looked anything other than a lazy, stroppy individual. Even in interviews he's been unable to hide that unpleasant side to his character. He doesn't care a jot for Everton or Evertonians. Get the hell out of our club.

That said reading it now, I don't think Dyche was trying to say we weren't looking to sell him. I think he is purely addressing the Instagram thing. Which tbf, I'm on his side there, we need to get the right deal.

Still annoying that we won't see that money reinvested or the player replaced though.

Professional enough last season to do the job as a lone striker when needed and provided some moments against city and that 99th min cross into the box for the CB scramble at wolves. Cannot expect the same this year so the best for all parties involved that this transfer goes through. Can we get most of that cash upfront please?
