Not a great look/situation for the player or club sadly, it never ends well when players are cut off and ostracised, but you can understand how this has happened and gray clearly hasn’t helped himself with Dyche.

Grays another who always flattered to deceive in an Everton shirt, much like iwobi, and clearly a player who thinks he is much better than he actually is, and we have a load of those anyway, so getting shut of one is fine - the club have got what they wanted and not reinvested the money on the playing squad, so win-win for player and mosh/kenwright.

Should also mean Dobbin gets more minutes/opportunities, and I’m ok with that.

Injuries could be a real issue.

Before today, I think it’s 13 players left this summer with 9 coming in (counting loans and returning loans), Harrison and Danjuma are counted in that.

With Gray, it becomes 14

Realistically though we are looking at six full time squad members who have gone, Iwobi, Mina, Davies, Maupay, Holgate and Coady and 3 of them are pretty useless. Simms and Cannon were at best fringe players.

The main issue there for me is that we have lost 2 (I guess three if you do include Holgate) serviceable centre backs and replaced them with just Branthwaite.

I don't hate Gray or anything but I think he is one of the only ones who we actually have adequately replaced.

I agree we could have got cover for centre half because Keane and Godfrey don’t fill me with confidence right now. But not at the expense of developing Branthwaite. I was dead against us getting someone in on loan and playing them minutes over playing a up and coming 21 year old with huge potential. That’s where it gets a bit tricky.

Tbf Branthwaite has almost hit Minas average number of appearances per season already

They wouldn’t have spent anything anyway they’re not exactly trying to hide it are they? I think it’s only happening now because the original move to Saudi fell through and I guess once you’ve been offered Saudi money you don’t want to settle for less.

It really is as simple as the original move falling through. Know these Saudi clubs are hard to keep track of but think some people are ignoring the fact he’s joining a completely different club to the one we had an agreement with prior to deadline day.

There’s not been some big conspiracy to push it beyond the deadline- Al-Shabab screwed him and us by changing their minds and going for Carrasco instead.

if we had of brought another CB in, Tarkowski is playing that crap he'd be the one to lose his place if Dyche was being fair
