I don't see what Anichebe and Ba have in common.

One is a Senegal international striker who knows how to score.

The other is a Nigerian benchwarmer who's scored less this season than Phil Neville.
 
both will give 200per cent for the team wont they,them 2 up front on a cold wet windy night up at newcastle just what we need.what you getting at unit
 
I still don't approve of that mercenary. But still... if DM gets Ba, he shoud play 4-4-2. Ba played best at Hoffenheim when he had a strong partner with Ibisevic. I am not sure Saha is the right type of player Ba would get along with but Beckford might fit the role whith his movements.

Workrate or goals?

Goals for me anytime we have 9 other outfield players to run like fook i want some1 on the end plz. Ba seems he can do this with head and feet sign him up, thankyou,please!!

He is asking for huge wages because he won't cost anything thankyou please.

Strikers cost lots which we haven't got so unfortunately these are the players our NSNO Club have to put up with, *cries into beer*

I agree we unfortunately already have Mr. Goalshy Anichebe in our team. However an assist is as good as a goal - no assist no goal. So a striker who "only" scores 15 goal per season, but has another 10 assists is just as valueable as a 25-goal striker.

I agree, i just feel an out and out goalscorer is what we need but they are few and far between and are the most expensive part of the team to acquire.

I'd take Long, for sure. I'm all for getting more Irish lads in the squad! But I'd want him to be third choice at best.

Demba Ba is someone who can hit the ground running, as he did in that dreadful West Ham team. Someone who I think would work well alongside the much-improved, ever-improving Beckford.

yep, they have the largest transfer fees. I do however also believe that we need more pace in our midfield and more direct players. We need to offload some of the midfield deadwood and perhaps sacrifice a few regulars. The current midfield has become stale and to many of our regular midfielders are so secure in their starting berth that they know that even if they play poorly they will still be there next week. Moyes needs to reshuffle the midfield and get some pace into it.

Maby we might see more of Gaye next season.
 
I'd say Demba Ba for 50k a week, someone mentioned his agents demanding 4k per goal as well in bonuses. Couldn't you tier it up even further, go 2k per goal unless he scores 15 or more and then give him 4k per goal after the first 15? That would be value for money to me..

Otherwise I hope for more Gueye, Coleman still bombing down the right and with Becks up top I think we have speed, and hopefully he can start slotting his chances home. Seemed to me like Beckford had an average of 4-5 real goalscoring chances per game this season but last touch/weak finishing let him down. Hopefully more time to get into the Premiership tempo will move him up to 40-50% goalscoring ratio from those chances.
