Demba Ba is someone who can hit the ground running, as he did in that dreadful West Ham team. Someone who I think would work well alongside the much-improved, ever-improving Beckford.

Beckford is your typical confidence striker, unstoppable when confident and a frustrating player when not. Moyes doesn't seem to realise this and constantly dumps him whenever Saha-one-leg or Vic-I-cannot-hit-a-barn-door is semi fit.

IMO if Beckford was given an extended run, which would allow his confidence to soar to new heights, he would get us 20+ goals a season.
 
Hopefully we'll see this season what a real pre-season can get him now that he's used to the tempo, and knows more about the players around him. I think he can improve to something like Darren Bent with time and patience as he seems to have a real knack for getting into the right position, is strong and works hard and clinical finishing. He looks a goal-scorer, so here's to hoping he can improve timing, first touch and tempo-wise as well!
 
I'd say Beckford 3rd choice....Demba Ba 2nd Choice....Still need one superstar forward (OR a young kid with great potential to be 3rd choice)......if Moyes plays forwards on form in doesnt matter whose 1/2/3 choice.

I'd say 2 new forwards and a clear out of all attackers other than beckford.
 
Would like to see Ba over Long, 7 in 13 in a West Ham side woefully short on creativity is decent. Hope LCAB has some good news soon!

Got the low-down on Ba from a mate who's a mad hammer....he says that the kid is very quick, with two great feet, and he managed to score something like 7 goals in 12/13 games when mostly he was played out-wide!! He reckons that alongside another good forward in a 4-4-2 he would get 20 goals a season easily

I want him even more now. How good would it be if we had Ba and Long together up front, jizz worthy.
