the would romantic in me would like to think that Ba would put ambition before pound signs. If you weighed up the two squads, we're superior to the skunks and are more likely to be challenging for Euro qualification and the cups.

I agree. If we signed him for £2million we would consider it good business. We need a striker and can't afford to be choosey. If it means we sign him I think we should just cough up the fee.

You obviously don't work in business if you call that 'good business'. If, as is rumoured, he wants to come to us - why pay £2M potentially unneccesarily. That amounts to a significant amount of the potentially available transfer budget, thus impacting on other further business we may wish to do. This is normal practice in other businesses, it's just we view it from the fantasy football fans perspective. If it means holding out, and even in the end missing out, so be it.

He's also agreed terms with us though, it's a case of him making his mind up where he wants to play his football next season.
