For the 431st time, Saha is on ~£60K a week.

Those objecting to £50K are being moronic and have insane expectations.

What's your point with Saha? He's overpaid too. Hardly a valid comparison.

£50k a week for a striker with terrible knees who has half a season English Premier League experience is paying over the odds.

It's not "insane expectations" at all. For £50k a week you'd expect someone proven, not an injury prone 26-year-old who has never played at a top club.

I'll back him if he comes, but he's not the second coming of Dixie as some of you are making out.

Exactly , didn't know louis was on that but it does not suprise me one bit, this is the going rate for quality , Big Felli will be next , someone of his quality will want atleast parity with Arteta who think is on 75 k

LCAB said before that no player at the club earns £75k when he was asked about how much Ba was asking for. I imagine Arteta would earn at most £70k per week.

Maybe so, but you can bet ya boots the big curly haired fella will want something similar , and by the big curly haired fella I don't mean LCAB :-))

Yeah there are parts there I agree with you but the type of player who your referring too ( a proven premier league goal scorer who's has a clean slate injury wise) will want prob 70 k a week plus a 15 million price tag because no club in the right mind would let a player like that just run down there contract and walk , I guess you mean some one like Nicolas Anelka ??? Even he at 31 would cost around 6/7 mill and even then Everton would struggle to attract a player like this , plus Ba also has an immense record in the Bundesliga and a decent record for Senegal too , you have to take that into account

Bollox !!!

I WANT IT TOO !!!

Fellaini's contract will reflect that .. He will get the rise ; JUST LIKE ARTETA / Jags /Bainsey etc ...

Actually, Ba only scored 11 goals over his final two seasons with Hoffenheim, scored 14 the year before in his best season, but his first year at Hoffenheim was in the German version of the Championship, not the Bundesliga.

So he's literally had one full season of top flight football, played half the season for two more years in Germany and failed two transfers to two seperate clubs due to failed medicals - only taken on by West Ham out of desperation in January and has 13 games of football in England, which is nothing to judge how his knees/legs are doing.

I think he's a "decent" player, but a big gamble. For a club like ours to take someone on as one of our highest earner who has a horrific injury record is just something we shouldn't do, given how often we've been stung by similar signings like Slaven Bilic, van der Meyde etc.

I've been confident ever since we've been linked with Ba that we'll get him. But as it carries on dragging out and Pardew confident Ba will sign for them, I'm beginning to think it's just not meant to be. If he signs like he's a ledge...

I understand people being worried about his knees but 50 grand isn't to steep in football now and who are the alternative strikers we can get with are money ........... I will be made up with we sign ba if not looks like it will be boothroyd or someone else frm lower leagues and we will struggle to find the net again next season

beginning to think hes got no intention of coming here just using us to push the toon tits along a bit/get more money

Are we still in talks with Felli then LCAB, and just one question mate, as Moyesy still got the Pienaar money at his disposal? Cheers.

£50K a week for a striker is nothing these days. Factor in us not being able to pay a large transfer fee as well, then who on earth can we afford?

What kind of striker can you get for that wage, and a fee of up to £6 mil? A championship one, probably.

EDIT: Oh and my point with Saha is that he's even more injury prone and on more than that. People don't seem to moan about that one too much, and also I was implying we could get Saha off the wage bill and replace him with Ba, if necessary. That would make sense to me anyway. Also, what about the Yak? Isn't he on £55K?

If Wikkipedia is anything to go by then 50 k a week is a steal ,
Rouen - 26 apps=22goals
Mouscron-12 apps=8 goals
Hoffenien-97 apps=37 goals
West Ham 12apps=7 goals
Senegal 10 apps=3 goals , judging on that we should be going all out to sign him especially with no transfer fee , no one had worse Knees than Lescott look how he turned out he's only a young'sh player so if the right tests are done then ill be more than happy , but we do have to be careful I understand that side like
