Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

I've only just found GOT and signed up.

Remember the day... driving back from a short walk up to the ruined castle in Llangollen and hearing the news of Gary Speed's suicide.

Total and utter shock and disbelief.

This is what depression can do. It's an illness that takes too many lives and is brushed under the carpet too much.

Reading posts here, I know that this forum and its supportive members is for me.

Thank You!

Happy to have you here, mate. You're most welcome by all, I'm sure.

Hope things are okay.

Mate, it's great to be on the other side. But as we all know, it's a storm when you're in the centre of it all...

Only hope that lads on here realise there's always an end to that storm.

Great to have you back mate and I'm made up to hear that things are looking up for you.

It's really uplifting when people like yourself, who've been through some incredibly difficult and prolonged dark times get their life back on track. It can only be of benefit to others on here, who at this moment are having a rough time.

Keep posting mate, I'm sure your experiences can only be of benefit to others.

What sort of work are you looking for ?

Seeing as you're closer to most of the posters on here now, that you've moved, maybe someone can help ?
Not too phisical mate, because I am not quite strong with my health (I mean I can't be a builder or handyman, etc.).
I am looking for some customer service or something like this.
At the moment I am considering my options and thinking about moving to Liverpool, because i don't see a reason to stay in Manchester if I don't have a job here. May be this move will change my luck, anyway it can't be any worse...

This may be something you haven't considered before ?.

The solicitors firm in Liverpool I used to work for had a rapidly growing Eastern European section, due to the amount of business they got from the Eastern European community right across the UK. The girl in charge of it was Russian. Most of the staff had no formal clerical training as such and were recruited for their ethnicity above all else. They got trained on the job.

I don't know how they recruited staff, but possibly through agencies ?

Didn't miss a single home game of the Toffees.
But struggled to find a full time job mate.

This any use ?

Cheers mate. I tried plenty of customer service but all of them looking for experience in the UK...

Don't give up mate.
I know it's tough when you keep getting rejected, but if you don't apply, you defo won't get the job.

Have you thought about doing some voluntary work until you find something permanent ? It won't do any harm with prospective employers and it would probably be good for you to feel you were doing something useful and help break the cycle a bit ?
