Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

How good is this page? There are so many people who deserve genuine praise for some of their posts, advice, and encouragement. This isn't something to be "shrugged off", this isn't a calf injury, it can literally be a killer. Don't let it. You are bigger, and you are better than it.
You are spot on Sir. I am just in from a 10 hour late shift, full of man flu and feeling miserable. I log on here to see I have had several friendly, useful replies to my post this morning and it's picked me up! I find it very therapeutic to know there are other 'normal' blokes out there going through this!

Well a rubbish week comes to an end and can't help but feel good.

The team have rolled out a new part of the system we use and didn't run it past me. Fair enough as I'm leaving.

Anyway, asked to have a look today and showed them three things that means it won't work and they have to stop the rollout.

Don't bet against them asking you to stay once they realise your value

The mirtzipine are really weird. I just feel so angry, maybe the citalopram has supressed it previously. Been on them a week and I don't actually know if I feel better, all I feel I anger

They are awful . I took them last year. All I done was sleep and eat on them I don't recall being angry but I had no emotion or motivation. It took me hours to wake up properly. I'd be groggy til the afternoon and by that time I'd be that annoyed and down I'd just write the day off and continue to do nothing .

Remeber each person will react differently to different things. Mirtazipine will be spot on for some people, and awful for others.

Yes definitely .

I've tried fluoxetine which helped for s while , mirtazipine which were awful and now I'm on sirtraline which seem to be ok at the minute but it's early days .

I also take propanol for anxiety which are good for me and found pregabolin to not suit me .

It's all trial and error including getting the correct dosage right.

Exactly this,I started on Sirtraline 25g but they done nothing for me except leave me very lethargic,I went back the GP changed and also got a different dosage,be ause there is no psychical ailment its a lot more difficult to pinpoint the problem as such, plus it does take a while for there to be any real benefit its not like taking paracetamol and the pain goes

I do meditating. Luckily I'm blessed to be in a beautiful country where there are plenty of calm and picturesque places to help with it. I dunno how great it helps long term, but short term it can sort me out.
Not sure you even need picturesque for that to be effective. I aim to walk IPod and purpose free several times per week, I make a point of looking around me and I see so many things I walk past daily and don't see. Don't know why but it's therapeutic for me.

I suspect the answer is, slow life down, look around you and take it all in.

I think that rings true on a lot of levels. I'm lucky enough to have some nice little spots near me, I fortunately haven't got the problems many have, but it always makes me feel better to wander out and take it all in and helps clear my head.

The great outdoors is definitely a good tonic in this age of offices and technology.
