Getting ready for work and I have the Southampton game on in the background. At 11', Saints have the ball out wide left past the midfield, and the Everton back line drops back to organize itself. But Sidibe is wandering nowhere in particular, and ends up close to Mina on Mina's left, ie between Mina and Holgate leaving the spot where the RB should be unoccupied l. Of course Southampton flubbed it, because Southampton, but a better side would have done something with it.

Again at 33' - Soton win a ball in their own half and counter quickly down Sidibe's side, he's nowhere to be found, Holgate gets back and breaks it up and we're lucky we have a CB with some pace there else the attacker's in on goal alone

You could probably stay in bed a bit longer if you didn't conduct an in depth analysis of Everton's defensive set up before work every day you know. Just for future reference.

Having gone to University in Liverpool, I must admit the one thing that shocked me was seeing bars on the ground floor windows. They were everywhere. Equally shocking was small shops with all the stock behind a thick perspex shield...being handed a packet of digestives through a hatch was a new one for me. Thought I was in a bank.

Coming from a small town in Ireland where petty crime is very low, it was quite an eye opener. Felt like Marty McFly from Back to the Future II arriving in an alternate crime riddled Hill Valley...”I don’t remember bars on these windows”. Sat on the bus and seeing a kid smash up a phone booth with a cop (“bizzy”) no more than 50 feet away from him, and witnessing a police chase outside St Johns shopping centre, just some of the incidents in the first few months. Yet all this was juxtaposed with the friendliest people you could wish to meet. Asking for directions the people couldn’t have been more helpful.

Were they Chocolate Digestives or plain?

My son was at University in Manchester and lived in some depressing and crime-riddled areas with bars on the windows because students are fair game. He was also mugged at knifepoint. I hated visiting some of the places he lived in.

I am sure it is the same in all major university cities, but there are also wonderful parts of Manchester and Liverpool. Sidibe's comments are ill-informed and prejudicial in this respect.
