Liverpool is a thriving, cosmopolitan and ever developing city. There is no need to take a dig at the place a huge majority of our fan base is from.
It furthers the disconnection between the players on the pitch and the fans in the stand.
Not saying they’re all like that because if you contrast him with the way Richarlison has immersed himself in the city, it’s night and day.
If he does it on the pitch couldn’t care less if he likes the city. I know I’m not from Liverpool but if it was the equivalent of where I live I wouldn’t care either.

Liverpool as a city takes unnecessary flack and the outdated stereotypes impacts upon the city and those who come from it.

No, we’re commenting on it in the Sidibe thread.
It does matter, for reasons I’ve just mentioned. Negative and untrue stereotypes don’t help the image of the city, which doesn’t help the image of its residents.
He said it’s a sad place that’s been through some suffering. Can’t see how that isn’t correct when pertaining most Northern working cities.

Liverpool is thriving. I mean, for God’s sake, we’re about to build a stadium at the book end of a £5bn development.
Peddling negative stereotypes does nobody any good. It just shows him up as being ignorant.
...he’s not being very clever if he wants to endear himself to the club and it’s fans. I think his performances have been ok after a poor start but I wouldn’t be bothered in the least if we don’t take up the option to buy and let him go somewhere ‘nicer’ to play his football.
