I think it's cause we want more. We know a decent player when we see one and we can spot an average or poor player. I don't think we're overly critical. No more than any other teams fans anyway.

One quick google. This lad seemed to get universal agreement by the looks of things. I don't know about you, but I definitely wouldn't call Everton a "tourist club". I know which clubs I would though.

I wouldn't call Everton a tourist club either. I'd call it a club that regularly experiences complete silence throughout the ground during many home games. You may want to believe that this is the case everywhere else as well, but I disagree. It's certainly not the case even just watching Everton away games on a stream.

The moron kopite you reference doesn't even seem to be talking about complete silence either. He's talking about people buying pizzas on 42 minutes in an effort to let everyone know what a pyar genuine scouse red he is.

Since Martinez' first season, as fans, we haven't had much to cheer about.

We all probably expected things to change drastically when Moshiri bought into the club, but season after season we seem to be going backwards in terms of recruitment.

Having said that, everything should change now that we have Ancelotti at the club.

Bigger and better times lie ahead.

No, pathetic recruitment of managers and players cause Everton to be absolutely what they currently are- a team of journeymen and losers.

Can't sit there, and call the fans when out when we're sat at home and Andre Gomes, Tom Davies and Alex Iwobi rock up like they;ve been on a 4-month bender its not us.

I'd argue our fans are too optimistic. Fans want the best, and tell the players so, I think our expectation makes it harder for the players. But ultimately, they're paid to be professional footballers, and they shouldn't succumb to the crowds full stop.

The only problem we have, is that we're just not very good.

I don't want to believe anything. I see the same thing at every single PL stadium I watch a game in. Silence throughout the ground.

I also see this at Anfield during derbies. I do not see this at Goodison during derbies.

I'd just like to again reiterate that there seems to be universal agreement with the moron from fellow internet kopites.

Fair enough mate. You think that all club's are suffering from this 90 minutes of silence thing. I don't.

I don't hear outright silence for 90 minutes when Everton are away. I think Goodison is one of the quietest grounds in the country unless it's a big game, or we have some kind of beef.

This is a complex question. I am still an inexperienced hand in knowing the in and outs and the history of both Everton and the league, and always feel that whatever my opinion, it comes from a place where I'm just not sure. I have been following sports in the States for a long time and can tell you, in my opinion, that most crucial piece to team culture is ownership. Owners need to build a mentality and hire the people that match that mindset. Fans come into play in that they often sway and pull ownership in one direction or another, but good owners stay the course, sometimes against the current. I am a big fan of the Miami Heat, they are team in the 90s that were taken over by a new owner, and the owner had a vision, brought in Pat Riley, and that culture, with three championships along the way, is still the same today. Heat fans in the 90s were a nonexistent and apathetic bunch. Now, we probably fit that culture of the team of hard work, stability, etc. (Not unlike Everton fans appreciating a good tackle or hard work). On the other hand, I've seen great team, like the 49ers of the 80s and 90s that were amazing, but had little to do with their fans.
