Does the club need 'rebranding'? Something based around the new location?

You brought Stockport into this thread not me.

How on earth is that any sort of comparison with the commercial potential this club could offer in its new home and surroundings?

"Whatabout Stockport?!?!".

You're the one insistent on the magical powers of the river Mersey.... (the famous football quiz question answer that disproves your theory is Stockport). You're the one insistent on the Merseyside trumps Liverpool nonsense angle.....

Everton is the brand.... the new stadium is the potential partial rebrand.... the rest is pure fluff. Classic Davek.

Struggling badly here now. ^^^

The magical powers of the Mersey have been the reason we have a Liverpool in the first place. I'd have thought a seaman would have appreciated that.

Tsk.

Which therefore is inextricably linked to Liverpool too.... as is the term Merseyside. Thankyou, I knew we'd get there eventually!

Towns and cities form around natural resources.

Your view of history must be something like: "people in the 13th century decided to create the borough of Liverpool and chose the banks of the Mersey...then they discovered there was a river and that it could be used to trade on".

FFS. Give your head a wobble.

Mersey first and the borough/city is handed life from it.

So you're now saying that the Mersey isn't inextricably linked with Liverpool, isn't synonymous with Liverpool.... ... because the river came first? Brilliant! Let's somehow rebrand our storied football club around this genius hypothesis.

Sort of makes you wonder why Fulham (Literally overhanging the Thames) haven't become London's main footballing brand because of it, doesnt it? Doh!

Anymore gems?

No, no more gems. I'm just going to stand back and allow everyone to appreciate how dense you are.

BTW: 'storied'. Lol.

Yes, a "Storied" Football club..... feel free to google it.

You might want to do the same with "Cunard Yank" after that. Unless you think I'm 80+ yrs old former steward on passenger boats.
A term used by Americans for their historically important sports 'franchises'.

The Cunard Yank jibe is timeless.

So that is what you got when you looked up "storied"? I think you may need to change your dictionary, or at least get one!

Cunard Yank? Again, Davek, the never-ending purveyor of extraneous and meaningless points......

Just say it, don't be shy.... you want Everton to change their nickname to the Mersey Waterboys and for us to come out to "Fisherman's Blues".
