Last summer's signings

Bernard : Would easily get 25 million plus for

Digne : Bought for 20 million, probably worth 30 million plus now

Richarlison : Paid roughly 35 million for ( add ons will increase that, but, apart from appearances, I doubt we've hit any ), worth 50 million plus now. You might not pay that, but plenty would

Mina : Paid about 27 million for. Being injured last season means he hasn't had time to settle yet, so maybe he's only worth 20 million plus now

Net result : At least 50 million up

On Delph. We paid buttons for him. If he plays 25 to 30 games this season, then he'll be worth 20 million plus at the end of the season. If he doesn't, then he'll still be worth pretty much what we paid for him.

It's too early to tell on Kean and Gbamin. Iwobi is probably going to be worth roughly what we paid for him, but if Silva can work on his weaknesses then his value will increase as well.

Brands has made mistakes this summer, but, financially, he's doing just fine.

He's going to double in value, despite being a year older and playing for Everton rather than the reigning champions, just because he's played more games than last season?

There are about 12 managers in the premier league who would prefer to work with the players Silva has to work with than the ones at there own clubs. If, and at this stage it is looking like a big if, Silva lasts the season, then some of those managers with inferior players will finish above us.
Why will that happen? Because they will look at the players they have and come up with a couple of systems that suit them. Our own manager, it seems, will still be too stubborn to admit that the way he is setting the team up is not going to work with the players he has.

We´re only six games in, I think we´ll finish around the same place as we usually do. We´ll go on bad runs, we´ll go on good runs. We´re a decent/good team which struggles to find consistency. With the players we have at the moment it´s what I´d expect.

I think the transfer dealings will prove to be spot on. Delph will prove to be the best buy (value for money wise) by any club.
The problem is not the transfer business but the inept coaching and useless tactics. Only one man to blame for that and its not the DoF !
I’d say the highly paid professional footballers are equally, if not more culpable.than the manager

Yes, for three reasons

Firstly, he only had one year left on his contract at City, so that limited his value, and he's on a three year contract here.

Secondly, other clubs didn't move in for him because of his injury record. If he can prove that he's not a McCarthy , then he's less of a risk to pay money for

Thirdly, it suited my agenda.

On, and transfer inflation is currently running at about 25%, which helps too.

Perhaps . Or maybe he wanted to vote multiple times himself

We got Gomes on the cheap. He has flaws, but he's worth 30 million plus.

Adjusting for year on year inflation, that's not much real value added on to the fees...even with the generous one's you'd hand them.
