All of his faults can be improved on by a wide margin. The same can’t be said for many players- the lad has potential.

He has many faults atm, he may never reach that potential, but he has all the tools. It’s up to him to work on his balance, finishing and overall game. The pace, the hops and the height are there.

He could be our Ole Solskjaer as in he will always be better suited to being a sub. Nobody would knock Solskjaer achievements as a player but he was never quite as effective starting games. I always thought Deulofeu was this type of player as well. The game is about the 14 and in many games the substitutes are what make the difference. Now if we can find another 20-30 goal a season striker and let DCL do what he's good at maybe everyone will settle down and appreciate him for what he is.

Comparing him to Kane is very unfair, Kane is without question the best English Striker in the league, its unlikely he will hit those heights, but the lads only 21, hes got plenty of room for growth. Hes pacey, hes very good in the air and his passing is decent, just his finishing has let him down in the past, but hopefully that can improve.

It already has improved massively since last season. He’s a very good finisher in the air now. What I like about him is you can see he’s making progress.

I don't understand the Kane comparisons. Kane was always a natural finisher. People worried about his physical attributes and whether he would get the pace of the game, but nobody doubted the lads ability to finish. Almost the exact opposite of DCL.

DCL could emulate what a good Marcus Bent/Andy Johnson did for us. He could also offer a bit of what Duncan Ferguson did in terms of winning heads and forcing teams back.

The lad will never be Harry Kane though.

I know you're a big patriot Brexit Mike so obviously know all about the England teams but I could honestly only name you about 6 players for the u21s and 3 of them are pot noodle head, dowell and dcl

No likewise, but most of the coaches who had him down as a strong finisher, who lacked in the other areas. If you had the same criticisms of DCL they would probably look almost the opposite of what people said of Kane.

The jarg fighter pilot is over-rated, he hit a purple patch, he wont score more than 10 goals, im not willing to bet money on that and if I was, I would rather get better odds from a bookie.

Well DCL is learning from the best in Big Dunc, im sure he will kick on loads with a coach like him.

If FM taught me anything its that players improve composure over time.
