Having a 20 goal a season striker means you have him for that season. To hope for one is to replace him with the silly cash we end up with.

Unless that same 20/per season does almost nothing else. We've witnessed a prolific striker who helped produce the same mediocrity that we've been mired in for years.

I'd rather see if this kid figures it out this season.

Kinda defeats the argument of a 20 goal PL striker if we look at all competitions.

Not a realistic comparison at all.
DCL brings a lot to the team we all saw that in the last dozen games of the season.
If he added 20-25 goals a season he would be worth over 100m in the transfer market and there are very few of those players around.
DCL is playing to a high standard of football in the premiership, a keeper who can't save shots doesn't even get to play for a pub side.

He doesn't have to add 20-25 , it isn't as if he scored none last season.
I think he scored six goals last season and it was really in the last quarter that he became a regular starter.
To get to twenty he has to add fourteen goals and if he played from the start every week and had a full season you would expect that he would increase his tally from last season.
It is not as far fetched as you seem to think .

Like a lot about this young man. Pace, good in the air, gets others involved...if he can learn to finish we've got something.

As kids we learnt how to put the ball in the net. If he can’t do it by now he never will. He needs a free scoring partner up top with him to capitalise on his work, imo.....
