Pretty similar to the West Ham game, the guy just craps himself when he's got time to think in the opposition box. His all round isn't terrible, but his confidence in front of goal is just woeful. That one early doors today was useless, he didn't even shoot or try and square, he just totally bottled it. He also somehow missed a chance from about 5 yards out on the slide although he was offside.

He has a massive confidence crisis in front of goal, not a helpful trait for a striker.

Unfortunately the lad is just not Premier League level yet, and may never be.

It's not his fault he's starting games for a supposedly good Premier League club - what do you expect him to do, say no?

He should be developing out on loan clearly. It's another symptom of our failed transfer policy under Walsh - I can't blame Brands/Silva for not bringing a striker in as it's a position where you pay for quality and we don't have infinite money; we signed Richarlison instead, which in the long term is the right decision.

The fact he's starting games is the sign that this season is and always was going to be a write off. The key is that we have a plan in place to make sure we're better equipped for future seasons.

I don't mind Dom, in general...he's got plenty to work with but that was also said of Rodwell. He's at a stage where we either need to persist with him and deal with the lack of experience or let him go on loan where he's guaranteed to start. Either way, he needs to be playing every week.
