Joey, Kean has shown more in 60 minutes than DCL has in 250. He’ll get plenty of time to prove his worth, just as DCL has had several chances.

he reverted to CF half way through the season Richarlaton had a go playing there , and he was poor, back to goal our best run came when DCL was CF - no goals but the energy in the team was better - look he is not the finished object far from it - he may not make it, so why did we not sign two replacements one for Barclay and one for Lukaku two seasons , and we have spent a fortune and bought no replacements.......

Oh dear another thoughtless post. If you look at Barnes' career then you would have realised he wasn't the prolific scorer as he is today. Just five goals out of 35 league appearances in the 14/15 season. Also Barnes is a lot older than DCL as well.

One of the things to note from Barnes' career is his ability to score more goals than he did in his previous season. Strikers generally get better with experience.
 

I’m not going to speak ill of the lad but I don’t think he’s of a sufficient standard to lead the line for a top half prem club. Be happy if he was our third choice CF behind Kean and AN Other decent CF.

Transfermarkt has DCL with 27 games at CF, 2 at left wing, 2 as a second striker. He only scored 4 of his goals at CF actually.

Not sure I understand we're you are going with this. So your saying now means nothing and we should wait on DCL while we could be plying our trade in the Championship looking up waiting for him to get double figures in four years. No way you have to get a established striker right away then nurture Lewen along. He is a fish out of water and losing confidence by the game. If the Fans start to get on him it won't be pretty.
