Strikers thrive on service and the Kane is probably the best striker in England and a lot older than DCL, so a bit of an unfair comparison there fella. We played against the best team in the league today most strikers suffer against them, he's still young and he's improved year on year, has pace and really good in the air, so there is some good things to work on.
I think he said 'service is an irrelevant argument' which is a lot different from 'service is irrelevant'.
It's an irrelevant argument over the full season for me. Service matters on a given day obviously but over the whole season I think he has to do more himself. He's good enough currently for a 10th place Everton side, but I absolutely am not happy with being 10th so he needs to improve his all round game. He needs to be able to create space for himself and he needs to be better at shooting from further out.
He had a good season but it's slightly skewed by the fact he started so well. His second half of the season has been fairly mediocre and he should have scored more. I expect improvement next year again because he has too many poor games for a team looking at european football.
Yes the argument doesn't hold up over the whole season for me. Good strikers can find goals from nothing on occasion. I don't think we saw one goal from DCL were he created something for himself. That is something he needs to improve but he can improve. It's very possible for him.
