He had enough service to comfortably break 20 goals. He's great in the air and I was impressed with his application this season - but we are going to need somebody reliable to stick the ball in the net on the ground when clean through. That's the next step for DCL, but can you learn ruthlessness if you don't naturally possess it?

Because of Covid and FPL I may have watched every match this year and all the top strikers miss chances. Dom's return compared to all of them is excellent especially considering he gets far fewer chances than most of them, especially Kane and Salah. He's a great striker and will be even better next year, if the team can be more on the front foot
 

Been watching the England game. Dcl has improved, no question... but jesus does he make some weird on-field decisions. He almost never makes the right pass when he's holding the ball up, or he loses all momentum by playing a backward pass or dribbles towards his own goal from a really advanced position. And he is a truly awful assist provider, it's the wrong ball all the time. Its lucky he can score the odd goal......

The odd goal is over 20 goals this season with not much contribution elsewhere Richco 6 plus goals - I feel sorry for our strikers as the midfield have stunk the place out - the last 12 games is the football was worse than under Big Sam - some 1-0 wins were fortunate too .... The king Carlo has gone, lets get a better replacement .....

7 off Kane and didnt have penalties.

Bring in an attacking manager some better players and he should be closer to the top next season.

Id hope he has the mentality for consistent penalty conversions...

Could be ideal to get him on them if hes decent...brings up his confidence.
 
It's been put forward as a positive that he scores a lot of goals without taking pens but maybe it should be seen as a negative.
Why doesnt he take them? Is he mentally weak? In one on ones he very rarely beats the last man his composure goes to pot, I think who ever is the next manager should be telling you are taking them it's your job

He doesn't take them because of our resident dead ball expert,you know the one who's lucky to score one free kick per season.
 
Was great last night when Ollie Watkins broke forward, layed it off to DCL half-way into the opposing half....then stopped, and layed it back to an Austria player mid-way into the England half. Class.
 
Not a natural goal scorer by any means. Needs to work very very hard on that aspect of his game. Is he being properly coached? - things like when to shoot across the keeper, opening up angles for himself, timing etc.He just looks a bit clumsy to me and tends to snatch at things. Not many goals from outside the box ( all the top strikers have this in their locker) but scoring a few more inside would be welcome in the meantime.
