Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that he was outstanding today. But I think anyone would be hard pressed to argue he isn't flying at the moment. He's playing a much simpler role and isn't wasting energy tear arsing across the back four to press everybody and he's reaping the rewards.

I think he was a victim today of the whole team getting pegged back and being up there completely on his own. I would argue as well (on a different topic) that weren't under immense pressure, the goal keeper didn't have a save to make. I think the defense did really well against avery pacy, skilful attack. Was quite impressed with Palace today.
Personally, I think he couldve done more in that second half. Last 5 or 10 minutes aside where he was winning fouls and getting us up the pitch is what I wanted to see from him when Palace had the upper hand.

I also think you're right about the whole pegging the team back thing and don't get me wrong, I dont expect him to win every ball and as I said in my original post (which has caused people to lose their minds for whatever reason) he was up against 2 fast, physical centre halves in Sakho and Kouyate so it was a hard game for him.

Gets his goal which I'm glad (obviously) but, yeah, I would've liked to see that little bit more in the second half.

You asked me to apologise. Stop trying to play the victim.
Not to me. I'm not arsed what you say to me, you're a faceless entity on the internet whos got his knickers in a twist because someone had a different opinion and wasn't a fan of your short, sarcastic responses.

Apologise to the top class striker we have for only wanting him to be Jermaine Defoe and not Aubameyang.

I’ve not got my knickers in a twist mate. I just think you are talking absolute rubbish and playing the victim.

It is possible that Dom was following Carlo’s instructions, he started to shine when the subs were made so could have been a tactical shift and he seemed to be coming back more.

Should have more to be honest, should have had 4 against WBA last week and should have got two today. I’m sure Ancelotti will keep telling him this. He’s doing a great job at the moment of getting himself in the right positions. I’m happy he hasn’t been short of service which is helping him massively.

He was very isolated in that second half, but he showed in that last 10 mins that he could hold it up and win fouls against that defence. My criticism might be purely down to the managers instructions but there was a couple of times that we tried to get out and the midfielders looked up and nothing was on.

Love DCL but I just think his all round game was poor today.

Last season everyone was saying DCL has everything you want in a centre forward except goals.

This season people are arguing he only has goals and nothing else.

The lad has had a cracking start to the season, can’t we just enjoy that?
Yah I will gladly admit this was my stance last year. He didn't have a great game today but he scored. Really excellent start to the season for the lad.

Think he had his worst game of the 3 this season today but scored an important goal so who cares. The fact people are moaning about a guy on 5 goals in 3 games is ridiculous. Just enjoy the ride.
