Personally, I think he couldve done more in that second half. Last 5 or 10 minutes aside where he was winning fouls and getting us up the pitch is what I wanted to see from him when Palace had the upper hand.Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that he was outstanding today. But I think anyone would be hard pressed to argue he isn't flying at the moment. He's playing a much simpler role and isn't wasting energy tear arsing across the back four to press everybody and he's reaping the rewards.
I think he was a victim today of the whole team getting pegged back and being up there completely on his own. I would argue as well (on a different topic) that weren't under immense pressure, the goal keeper didn't have a save to make. I think the defense did really well against avery pacy, skilful attack. Was quite impressed with Palace today.
I also think you're right about the whole pegging the team back thing and don't get me wrong, I dont expect him to win every ball and as I said in my original post (which has caused people to lose their minds for whatever reason) he was up against 2 fast, physical centre halves in Sakho and Kouyate so it was a hard game for him.
Gets his goal which I'm glad (obviously) but, yeah, I would've liked to see that little bit more in the second half.
