For all the other criticisms placed on him DCL has always out himself about and worked hard since he came into the team as a young man. He might well be off but if you ask me this is a fitness problem. We all think of the horror injuries like snapped legs and ACLs ruining players career's so a quad injury sounds minor, but given so much of his game was based on pace and his leap this could be a really bad one for him. Just hope this isn't the case and he's not racked with constant niggles from now on like Saha was.

The ones doing all the slagging off of him, are the ones that wanted him loaned out / flogged....and could not wait for him to dip, to spout off.

Its like they would rather be proved right that us win games.

It’s in our interest as Evertonians for him to do well. What are people supposed to do mate? Look at the matches and performances. I’m not arsed about being right , if anything I wanted him to do well and be wrong about him.

People are obsessed with getting one over others on here. Friggin small time petty mentality some posters have. You’ve probably seen it yourself.

I feel like his confidence is completely shot, from a combination of where the club is going and also due to his own injuries. He's not getting much of a chance of to play his way back into form due to how terrible we are playing, but when he does get opportunities I don't feel like it's with the same conviction.

Hes absolutely not blameless in all this but I still think there's a very good player there - let's not forget he started this season very well - but his confidence is shot to pieces.

Absolutely not. I'm one of his biggest fans but last night he was dreadful. No one will convince me that was his best efforts.

No one wants to see him play poorly but saying he played well would be delusional

Who said he played well ??

His form is clearly down to his injury issues, everything was off, his timming, his running, touch the lot.

One of those tantalising catch-22s. We need him back and firing, but his form doesn't justify selection at the moment and we can't afford to be selecting passengers just to get them back into form, even though we need them in form.

Form.

Spot on. The exact same parasites who abuse young players because of their own inadequacies that they’re terrified to face. They’re part of the problem.

He needs to work harder when the quality is lacking. He didn't compete anywhere near well enough, and had poor movement. Personally I don't think we can start him while he is so off the pace. We don't have time for him to gradually work back to fitness because we need results now.
