Theres not much he can do in the current situation. Hes a goal scorer if hes given service but in the current set up it just wont happen. DCL doesnt have it in him to run around and fight for 90 minutes.
 

When he came on the scene he was a hard running presence rightly criticised for not looking enough of a goal threat. He was, in my view, a decent team player who crested space and chances for others.

Ancelotti obviously saw something in him and told him to stay central and focus on ugly scrappy one touch finishes (citing Inzhaghi as an example of this particular art). Which was fine and we benefitted from his goals last season.

This year he looks utterly leaden. Like Andy Carrol has skinned him and started wearing him as a dead skin mask.

The way we look to play now, my view is we could do with a bit more of Dom 1.0 and that hard working style back. Question is whether his injury has stuffed his mobility, if he's got it in his head "I play the 18yd box or nothing", or if Lampard is encouraging him to be the target man and stay as the focal point.

Capable of scoring goals but shouldn't be relied upon to be leading the line and definitely not for avoiding relegation. Head is probably elsewhere by now

Awww! God bless the litle feller. Obviously, he shouldn't have to run around and get himself all sweaty and out of breath, and definitely not pick up the odd bruise. Heaven forefend! It's not as if he's being paid a fortune, or the club in dire need, is it?
 
Said it last game he started and I’ll say it again. He’s not arsed one bit. Wants out, his whole demeanour at the minute stinks. I just get the impression he thinks he’s better than he is. He’s game level has dropped, he can’t even hold the ball up, his effort was minimal to say the least. Doesn’t close down, expects the closing down to be done for him. He’s become lazy. I don’t care if you are not fully fit, run yourself into the ground for 50/60 mins then put your hand up and say your knackered, I’d much prefer that. Not once did I see him put himself about. Half arsed and arrogant. Go and get yourself a handbag and pose on a magazine to look good for your ego.

He’s coming back of a 4 month lay off in a part of the body you need for playing with a follow on niggle. He doesn’t look not arsed or lazy or wanting away, he looks exactly what he is, still working back to full fitness and playing within himself. Problem is he and Richy are the only ones we can trust in that front role as the other two options are Rondon and Tosun

He really doesn’t look arsed lad. Watch his body language. He doesn’t care. 4month lay off? Yet he doesn’t work? He was jogging about, didn’t close anyone down. When you press teams it starts from the front. He did nothing in that press. Left it to Gordon to do his running. Minging crack.

Read the interview he done, he’s clearly playing in himself. He should have been eased back in from the bench rather than chucked back in from the off

He’s been back in full training for nearly 3 months. I don’t know any other fans that make so many excuses for their players.

We still hear it about Gomes when he’s crap it’s because of a 3 month injury a couple of years ago.

The lad was absolutely half arsed last night and needs dropping.

Hard to disagree. Harry Kane ended up at left back yesterday and started a move from there, scored two, the gulf in class between the two is far wider than people on here would make out.
