There was a brief moment last season when the more hyperbolic section of our fanbase had DCL in a bit of a contest with Harry Kane for the England number 9 shirt. While few were claiming he was superior, there was definitely a sense among some that DCL was becoming something of a rival for the national team place. Well, we were treated to a demonstration of the vast gulf in class between the two last night.

The only player I’d be gutted to sell

No less than 80mil, if Grealish went for 100, Maguire for 80, Palace wanting 70+ for Zaha, we should be asking for that much easily.

Be absolutely hilarious to see which absolute lump we spend 30mil on to replace him like
I told you he wasn't worth 70m, he is one of those strikers who apart from getting a goal doesn't do anything

I've grown to despise him, hate watching him prance about in blue, doing nothing but looking up at the big screen to see if he's on.. as soon as he sees himself, he looks away quickly so he doesn't look like a tit...... but he is a tit.

That's always been a crap thing to say - by that 'metric' Inzaghi was a horrible footballer who never offered anything, and same can be said about a lot of other players.

That said - DCL's been crap for a few games now, but in a very annoying way where he doesn't really try that hard.

It was hilarious watching him and Richarlison occupy the same patch of grass for half the game yesterday as well. Utterly pointless movement (or lack of) by both.

I’ve said it for seasons, I have never taken to him. Can score a tap in but never scores outside the box and spends 89 minutes walking or doing his hair. Cash in asap

Let's be honest on him, apart from one strong season he's done little else. And as far as his goal scoring even that is limited in the way in which he gets his goals, he plays a very specific game hence why when carlo set up to play his style he scored. Give him time to think or ask him to score outside the box and he's lost.

Sorry for me he isn't all that, he doesn't even come close to the intelligence and movement of kane and isn't as deadly as say lukaku was for us.

The major issue in selling him though is trusting everton to invest the money we get in good replacements and making the team stronger, that I'm afraid is likely asking to much.

Read the interview he done, he’s clearly playing in himself. He should have been eased back in from the bench rather than chucked back in from the off
I agree that easing him in would have been better but he’s been back in training since Christmas so it shouldn’t be that much of an issue now. Players come back straight into the side after injury at all clubs, for some reason when we do it everyone thinks it’s gross negligence.

He’s been back in full training for nearly 3 months. I don’t know any other fans that make so many excuses for their players.

We still hear it about Gomes when he’s crap it’s because of a 3 month injury a couple of years ago.

The lad was absolutely half arsed last night and needs dropping.
But he hasn't though has he.
