I think @Eggs was the one who was saying that it may be wise to sell due to his injury.

….I’m a DCL fan but as soon as these blokes have a serious big thigh muscle injury, it would definitely be part of my transfer criteria to move them on. I said the same with James McCarthy who then spent much of his contract on the sidelines. We’ve seen what a poor signing Delph has been with his muscle injury record.

Even when fit, players subconsciously protect the muscle by playing in 3rd gear. It might be exactly what’s happening with DCL now. These injuries tend to hound a career, just like we’re seeing with Gbamin. I’d have never wanted to move DCL on before his injury but I certainly would now whilst his stock is reasonably high.

I agree and at 26 years old good time time to say Tara to get a decent xfr fee.

What kind of amount would you think the club would be asking for?

I know you like Broja, any others you could see suiting Lampards plans?

I'd drive him to arsenal myself if they offer 50 million

I think we'd probably see Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham interested for £50mil.

With his current performances and possibly a long term issue there it could be wise to sell.

A different story perhaps if he begins to show something by end of season.

Could see him at Arsenal - I'm sure they wanted him when he was younger too - lucky we were sensible enough to keep hold even though he wasn't scoring much.

I dont see him joining West Ham or Newcastle at all.

…..I expect his stock has dropped a bit this season but he’s only just 25 and Englands back-up striker last season. Given the sums Grealish and Sancho went for, I’d have wanted circa £70m last season, £60m now.

Was it a quad tear that he had?

There are some in murkier worlds who posit that a severe injury to a muscle that size is an indicator of steroid use.
There has only been a handful of cases of that. Its basically because steroid use can cause a displacement in collagen levels which in turn can cause a decrease in the strength of muscles, ligaments, and tendons. However lots of things can cause a particular injury.
