2021/22 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I appreciate goals and effort. If you think 45 goals in 6 years and playing like a zombie for most of this season just gone needs appreciation then you hand it to him.

Mitrovic would be a 500% improvement on that lad....someone I advocated we got in a couple of seasons back, btw.

We can do much much better than Calvert-Lewin.

No wonder we're 'kin hopeless with free passes handed out to bang-average-to-poor players like Calvert-Lewin.
In fairness to DCL he was a 1 in 2 striker based on minutes played each of the 2 seasons before this last one where he struggled to recover from injury and was scoring 1 in 3 if we go per 90 minutes.

...with the whole team playing to his strengths and we chimed in with low scoring elsewhere.

If he hadn’t have got injured for much of the season, he was on course for a third double figures goal season in a row

The hatred for DCL had stemmed over the last 18 months, not because of anything on the pitch or his physical issues, it’s purely what he’s done off pitch, the interviews, the photo shoots and adverts etc
There's no hatred. He's just not what we require.

I think the counter accusation runs along these lines: some people are obsessed with the idea of DCL being a success and will argue until they drop that he can be despite all the evidence to the contrary...and Everton suffer because of it.

BTW, I dont think he's going anywherew (unfortunately). But if he stays and Richarlison goes we will need a couple of attackers to make up the shortfall.

He is not too bracket, but neither are we.

He has shown he can score 20 per season. That is very difficult to replace in the PL.

I find it weird that people want to a sell DCL and Richarlison. They are our top goal threats.

The accusation that he needs service is also odd. If we accept we will never create anything then we need a striker that can make their own chances. I think we need to be more creative in midfield rather than sacrificing our actual goal threats.

He was starting, to get back to it over last few games. The Palace goal, was up there with his best for us. Had he been fit for the whole season we'd not of been in the situation we found ourselves in. Don't forget he scored 3 in 3 before the injury. He'd of likely scored around 15 goals. There is at least another 6 or 7 points may be more?

Can't believe the stick he has got throughout his time here. We paid £1.5 million, for him. When you look at the hundreds of millions we've wasted, probably been our best value signing since Coleman.

Richardson had a lengthy injury as well, early on after playing in two tournaments.

I dont want to sell Richarlison. I just acceopt he'll have major suitlors. DCL is a whole different matter: not good enough for us and wont have any major suitors we can get good money off.

We're stuck with him it seems.

Who is then Dave ? And how do we get them and for how much if they will come that is. Really looks like Richie is going so need to keep DCL and add to him.

Rumour machine is talking of Moyes bidding for DCL.

Some of them came into the league in their prime while DCL was played all over the place and as a sub.
Raw numbers are seldom flattering.

I'm sure the likes of Owen, Fowler and Shearer would point to their records before and after catastrophic injuries, and Ronaldo would say that pre-2007 doesn't count.

Also, according to Transfermarkt, there were 18 games where he played wide.
