Calvert Lewin skipping past defenders next season like

I appreciate goals and effort. If you think 45 goals in 6 years and playing like a zombie for most of this season just gone needs appreciation then you hand it to him.

Mitrovic would be a 500% improvement on that lad....someone I advocated we got in a couple of seasons back, btw.

We can do much much better than Calvert-Lewin.

No wonder we're 'kin hopeless with free passes handed out to bang-average-to-poor players like Calvert-Lewin.
This is ridiculous
When he is fit DCL is an asset. Not a world beater but certainly one of our best players. Most teams outside the top six have him as their first choice no.9 - exception of leicester maybe.
Anyone we buy to replace him is a huge risk. Mitrovic is in that category.
We are also paying over the odds for any striker.
We have failed to buy any player that has been success in about 5 seasons. Dumping dcl and richarlison and hoping to buy anyone with their potency upfront is wishful thinking

I thought the right-on thing was that mental health is supposed to be treated the same as physical injuries?
Indeed, I based my assumption on the fact that with him speaking out that he is seeking treatment for his mental health and I dont consider it an issue at this time.

A huge assumption, yes.

It didn't sound like he'd gone full Gomes or anything.

Some need to stop down playing and trying to sell our best players, especially when our Board has shown almost zero acumen for using funds well for replacements. We can't afford to sell all of our top players in one summer, it needs to be one at the time. Hence why the focus is on Richy - his contract has one fewer year than Dom and Pickford and his value is a lot higher than Dom at the moment.

I am worried about the muscle injuries, but it would be madness to sell him while his value is lowered. If he comes back healthy and firing in goals, he can make the WC roster for England and see his value double.

Yeah, you'd take DCL over Bowen or Antonio; Jiminez; Zaha; Toney...

100% take DCL over Antonio, Jiminez and Zaha. Antonio is 32 and has scored 56 goals in 7 years in the Premiership. Jiminez is sadly not remotely the player he was pre-injury. Zaha has scored 61 Premiership goals in 8 years so again hardly any more prolific. Palace have been poor during that time but then so have we. Toney would be an interesting punt, but what would we have to pay for him? Same for Bowen, West Ham won't let him go cheaply and in all honesty, why would he come to Everton? Mitrovic is an odd one because with all the goals you would think clubs would be more interested than they appear to be. Poor seasons in the Premiership maybe. Unless we can sell Dom for a silly amount and get a replacement much cheaper then I can't see it being worth the risk.
