If anybody knows Les, tell him to stop embarrassing himself on social media please.

lol lol lol

Yeah, you'd take DCL over Bowen or Antonio; Jiminez; Zaha; Toney...
To be fair I would definitely take him over Antonio, Jimenez, and Zaha. Antonio is starting his decline and Jimenez is aging and a shell of his pre-injury self. Zaha is a good player but turns 30 this year and doesn't provide more value than DCL. Toney is a decent comp but DCL has a higher ceiling over the next few years. I'd trade him for Bowen personally, but definitely kind of the outlier in play styles of that group you picked.

My point being I don't think we appreciate Dom's 20-21 season enough. He needs to stay healthy and replicate it of course, but I'm not liking how a lot people are talking about him lately.

I'm staggered anyone thinks Calvert-Lwewin is anything other than a player who chases into the channels and needs multiple high balls into the box to register an effort or two.

Fans of elite clubs would laugh at the thoiught of him being touted as anything other than bog standard.

He just doesn't get goals. That's the bottom line.

He gets one goal against Palace and he's rehabilitated for some.

Not me. He's a chancer and we can do better.
Just in case you are confused with our current situation, we are not an elite club. We are not able to attract elite players. How many mid table clubs have a 15-20 goal a season striker. If dcl is fit and we play to his strengths then that’s what he is

My concerns with him are fitness, not ability. If he plays regularly he will get enough goals.

Any time a young lad gets a run of muscle injuries, I have concerns about their long term availability. But if we are selling Richarlison, then it is too big a gamble for me to also sell DCL. We sell both of them and don't get it right with replacements, then we are going down.

It's a funny one this, because in an ideal world I wouldn't want us to sell either DCL or Richarlison but for financial (and probably because of player ambition) reasons it's obvious we have to sell at least one. I would rather we kept Richarlison but as he is clearly the more saleable asset it's going to go the other way.

A healthy DCL is a great asset if we plan to play a specific way, even our resident anti-DCL maniac (he's a maniac for non-DCL related reasons too) can see that when you play to his strengths he can be very effective. My worry is that our current wingbacks and wide players can't cross a football, which significantly reduces the usefulness of DCL.

I’ve said throughout the rumours for both him and Rich that if I could choose to keep one, it’d be DCL. Think Rich positionally will be easier to replace. Number 9s like Dom are very hard to come by. Think people have forgotten how good he was season before last.
Happy with this.
Guess we are gonna be seeing some through balls and a ton of crosses coming in.

I feel with him, we should support him, as well with his fashion/media stuff.
Reckon we have a decent lad, who speaks well,.looks.good and is getting a bit going in the fashion world. Could be a marketing dream, if we get him scoring.

Ah yes, the 2020/21 season....what a time to be alive as an Evertonian.
