I hope he stays and the team is built around him. He's what we need, he's brave and has character, what he wears and admitting to his struggles are testament to this, he works hard and is one of the best at holding up the ball. Give him service and he'll bang them in again.

Agree with Dixie. Tommy & Alex, I think Latch, Joe and Sharp would be eclipsed by Dunc and Gray. And surely DCL was a slip of the pen.

That was possibly Dunc’s best role for us, the effective sub in 04-05. I think most people judge players on who they’re likely to pick in a starting 11, myself. I know I do.

Your example is the rationale Ally MacLoed used to select Joe Harper over Andy Gray for Scotlands 1978 World Cup squad… that worked out well for him.

A fully fit DCL all season we aren't in a relegation fight last season (after punting the slug anyway).
Really is that important - most if not every team that struggles it's often down to not having a goalscorer, we have that when he's fit.

Agree but the question is, will we give him any service? A really tough shift playing as a forward for us the last few years, expected to take on the other team singlehanded and work miracles.
