Ayew hasn't been a striker in years either. He plays out wide.
Watkins is better by so much its not even close.
Bamford has had his injuries but I'd say Rodrigo is now their main striker.
Solanke is better, does more in games, doesn't just rely on balls into the box.
Che Adams again does more than just stand in the box waiting for headers or taps in.
I know you'll say he's been injured he's fatigued but his performances this season when he has played ( except palace when he had a good game ) have been abysmal, he's awful.

Simms some more in his brief cameo then DCL didn't all game though. Would give him a start, he genuinely couldn't be any worse
He was at his best because Carlo basically told him not to move from the 6 yard box. Probably because he offers nothing anywhere else on the pitch.
He did well and scored a few because he had Hamez putting it on a plate for him with it being harder to miss than score.
Now he’s gone the limitation in his game is clear to see.

I miss the DCL from before Ancelotti tbh, the tap in merchant was great, but I miss the DCL that used to harass defenders, chase down lost causes and worked the channels. We carry too many passengers now.
